While I agree that a 60lbs. stretch is too much for the heavyweights, and a weight class division around the 230lbs. mark would be GREAT...
I am excited about a possible 195lbs. division.
I think there are a lot of guys who are simply too small for the LHW division, but then really sacrifice on muscle mass and are forced to make extensive weight cuts to hit the MW target.
With that being said, my top picks for the best 4 candidates for 195lbs are:
1) Rich Franklin - Say what you will, but IMO Rich is one of the best fighters out there. Extremely well rounded, and all heart. If there was one weakness, I'd say he needs to add some diversity, possibly a move to another camp would change things up for him.
2) Yushin Okami - Although he looked terrible against Chael Sonnen, prior to that fight it was a daily occurrence that I scratched my head and wondered why the fuck this guy wasn't even TALKED about as a title contender. I think with his size, 195lbs. would be perfect.
3) Dan Henderson - As a guy who routinely swings from MW to LHW he's an obvious candidate. He's undoubtedly undersized at 205, while at the same time, 195 could afford him more muscle mass/less weight cut, allowing more power for his grappling to really shine.
4) Kendall Grove - Many might question this pic... but guys like Kendall always make me scratch my head. He has the frame to carry a lot more muscle... lanky guys who sacrifice too much muscle mass aren't playing to their possible strengths. There's a trade off in speed to be considered, but at his height, ten more pounds, I believe, would do wonders for him!
* NOTE * This isn't a list of top contenders... I think it would be easy to talk about how Anderson Silva could come in and dominate that division, etc... Rather, it's a list of guys who I think would improve their game by a move to 195.
Lastly, I didn't put Wanderlai on there for a reason. It's because I firmly believe he's a solid 185lbs. Feel free to disagree...

Just as long as the heavyweight divison is divided in some way. But to the top five 195 i would have to go with in no such order.... Vitor, Anderson, Rashad, I think Shogun could make 195 and Rich

At 195, their would be some really good fights. Some people are saying Forest and Bisping, your fucking nuts.Forest is a huge 205'r. No way he drop an extra 10 pounds. And Bisping makes 185 easily,so no issue their. Anderson wont go up in weight, because he could just beat them at 185, or 205. If he did move to 195, IF, he would vacate the title at 185.
Top 5
1- Wandy
2- Hendo
3- Franklin
4- Chuck
5- Rashad

3- Franklin
4- Chuck
5- Rashad | IMO Chuck done for no matter where u put him that isnt Tito...sure his last 2 loses were to top guys, but i dont think he could bang with any of the top 10 middlewights or lhw's... so i doubt he would contend with anyone of those to classes that decided to go 195... wandy likely take him in a rematch

The UFC hands gimme fights off to lots of people, but Chuck kept taking big names, over and over.Like the worst person he fought was Jardine, and Jardine is a good fight, no matter what. I think about Chuck TKO's Tito again, he should get another gimme fight, like Coleman.
I think the UFC should give Chuck the side road to the title, not up the middle like they were before. Randy beats Coleman. Machida beats Rua. Randy and Machida fight for the title.During that Chuck beats Tito, then goes on to beat Coleman. And hopefuly, Randy beats Machida, and Chuck challenges Randy. Chuck KO's Randy and regains his title. Also during that time, Forest rematches with Rua, and beats him again. Forcing a Chuck vs. Forest for the title. OMG are you confused yet? Chuck KO's Forest. Also during this Rampage beats Rashad, and faces Rua. Rashad and Tito rematch. Drooooool.

lolol yee man that would be a sick scenario.. i do agree with u in the aspects of chuck not having an easy fight.. still think only way he could contend for a title is if sum1 like a Randy was champ.

Fighters that are 260 lbs could drop down and it could rob pretty much all the fighters from the 265 division.

Rashad would murder at 195, he would be so fast. I'd like to see him and Anderson Silva bang it out at 195.
