| Koscheck Looking to impress on impressive card Quote:
Written by Tom Ngo
Josh Koscheck has just confirmed via his Twitter account that he will be facing Paul Daley at UFC 113 on May 1st. The yet-to-be-unannounced event is expected to take place inside the Bell Centre in in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
“Ok here we go, let the (expletive) talking start,” Kos Tweeted. “I am fighting Daley, MAY 1 co main event UFC113. This kid is going 2 get what he’s asking 4. XOXO”
The possibility of the scrap was first reported by MMAJunkie.com over the weekend, however was dependent upon Koscheck’s recovery from the undisclosed injury that forced him out of his rematch with Paulo Thiago at UFC 109.
Judging from Kos’ comments, it appears he’s healed from whatever it was that ailed him…at the very least his trash-talking game appears to be locked and loaded.
Koscheck was last seen unleashing the most impressive performance of his career against Anthony Johnson at UFC 106. He executed a perfect gameplan that enabled him to earn a 2ndRound rear-naked submission victory.
Thiago shocked the MMA world when he TKO’d Kos at UFC 95 in the 1stRound of their matchup last February. Koscheck had been chomping at the bit to get another crack at the talented Brazilian ever since, however that can clearly wait as an impressive W over Daley could very well have him in a 5Round title fight in his next Octagon appearance.
Daley continued his explosive ways by putting Dustin Hazelett to sleep in the 1stRound of their UFC 108 scrap. The Brit owns an impressive 23-8-2 record, with 18 of his W’s coming via some sort of knockout.
Daley has been calling for Kos’ cocky head since dismantling Hazelett earlier this month.
Here are the fighters rumored for the pay-per-view broadcast:
Sam Stout vs. Jeremy Stephens
Patrick Cote vs. Alan Belcher
Marcus Davis vs. Jonathan Goulet
Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson vs. Matt Mitrione
Josh Koscheck vs. Paul Daley
Rashad Evans vs. Quinton “Rampage” Jackson
Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs. Lyoto Machida (UFC Light Heavyweight Champion)

If it's Co main event.. that would make rumors of title fight being delayed true likly.. while having Jackson Evans main event.

Ive seen old footage of Daley and he didnt look too impressive on his back. Josh will take 'Semtex' down and submit him in the 2nd round for sure. Anthony Johnson is better then Daley, so this fight is a given for KOS.
Koscheck is still so underrated, who else can go the distance with Alves and GSP and take no punishment at all. If BJ Penn should move up down the road, he should fight Koscheck before getting another chance at GSP.
So once we get thru UFC 109 and 110(besides main event)......then we get three killer cards all in a row UFC 111, 112, 113.......March 27th(UFC 111) couldnt come fast enough! Injuries are bound to ruin this somehow.

This is an awesome card, but if Kos Daley is the co main, then it does sound like Shogun machinda is being pushed back.

I would say he took a lot of damage in that fight. As for AJ being better than Daley you must mean he is better at wrestling than striking right?

| I'm not so sure about that. The limited amount of time I've seen Johnson and Daley fight, I would say I've been more impressed with Daley.
It's an interesting matchup. I wonder if Kos will try to display his ever improving stand up, or if he'll take it immediately to the ground. I think he'll test the stand up, but only for a very short amount of time when he realizes that it isn't a good idea, and then just take Daley down, and finish him there. If he found a way to knock Daley out, that would be the most impressive way he can win it. However, I won't be holding my breath for that. Should be an exciting fight.
Does Daley have any ground skills?

No doubt the Brit will be written off again just like he was by 95% of this board in his last 2 fights (as was Hardy against Swick) and we all know what happened then. Kos is a really good fighter and obviously should be the favourite for this and he has the much better all round game but I wouldn't be at all suprised if he lost, he seems to go on these little winning streaks and then lose when he gets close to a title shot so Daley could make histort repeat itself.
Like I said Kos is really good but he's not great and he will never be a champion, I'm not a massive Daley fan but I'm pretty sure I don't dislike another fighter the way I dislike Kos (not even Matt Hughes) so will personally enjoy it if he loses. Should be an interesting fight whatever happens...
