I think what happened was, he was good at WW, and could hang with the top guys their. So he thought.

" Hey, If I can make 155, I will do even better then at WW, I will have the size advantage,and I am a great fighter. yes,yes,YES YES! YES!!!"

But then he met BJ Penn and rethought that whole idea.

i wish him success. im not convinced that he could even be a gate keeper at WW anymore. I think he needs a strong camp with top training partners to show him a little humility and to improve him. It will be interesting to see how he comes back after the first finish loss of his career.

Considering just how middle of the pack Diego was last time at WW and how he'd originally dropped down basically because he wasn't good enough to hang with your GSP's, Fitches, Alveseses etc, this move back up only succeeds in dropping Matt Hughes down even one more slot within the WW ranking, as well as adding one more WW fighter to my list of "Welterweights who could kick the crap out of Dan Hardy".

Aside from that, I'm none too interested in this jump back up. Kos, Semtex, Alves, Fitch and GSP all beat the hell outta Diego right now.

Well Diego claimed hes liking his new diet. Based on his implications im guessing he didn't like fighting at lw. I think he will do fine at ww. No matter what division he fights in there are still road blocks he will have to contend with anyways.

Personally I would like to see him fight Kos or Daley.

Give Diego the winner of that fight, and after he loses he can get on a new diet and move to 185.

So if GSP vacates the title to move to MW and BJ moves up to WW, will Diego move up to MW to avoid another destruction at the hands of BJ?

He'd be a lot smarter to avoid divisions with GSP or BJ in them. If he waits long enough, he can have the 155 division once BJ is gone. He'll likely move back down the second BJ moves up. Maybe just in time for Faber/Brown to show up.

Well the current champions over the divisions seem to be so high above their competition I really dont think it matters where he goes.

BJ is gonna whoop that ass at lw.
GSP is gonna whoop that ass at ww. Even if he moves up still theres Fitch.
I highly doubt he would even make it to Anderson Silva at mw.

I want to know what is wrong with just being a contender? Why does everyone have to move around just to avoid the champ? Why do some people think the only thing that matters is fighting for a title? I can understand the reasoning "be the best you can be". There are a ton of fighters out there who are great fighters, and have always been great fighters. Some of these guys will never fight for a title in a major organization and they are just happy fighting for a living.

Yea but that guy isn't Diego. There is really no other way to put it Diego like other fighters want that championship gold (he feels it's his destiny to be champion). Every fighter imo should strive to be the best in their division and you really cant lay claim to being the best without the strap.

Just my opinion.

i think his style actually matches up better against GSP than it did against BJ, but that won't save him.
