You hold the record for most boring post in this thread. Congrats dude, go watch WWE.

The UFC wants to put St. Pierre in the Octagon with someone it can sell as a legitimate threat, and after the way St. Pierre whipped Fitch, that'll be a tough sales job. If Paul Daley beats Josh Koscheck at UFC 113, I think Daley would get the next crack at St. Pierre's welterweight title, because Daley has a fighting style that makes him an easier sell as a threat to the champ.
| 100% accurate.
Fitch is one of those fighters I respect the most because he does nothing to sell himself other than what he does inside the octagon. In terms of who is the most deserving it is Fitch above everyone else, but the UFC does not work that way and instead goes for the most profitable route.

Alves to get revenge on fitch by UD this time around.
Winner of Kos/Daley to get GSP imo.

"If I stop Alves I deserve the next title shot" - Jon Fitch
Thank god! cuz the chance of Fitch stopping a fight is around 10% (1 of 10) and the chance of him stopping Alves this time around is like 5% (1 of 20)
I DO NOT WANT TO SEE FITCH FIGHT GSP AGAIN
but yeah, if he actually stops Alves he deserves the shot, however the only way I see him winning is by decision.
The only marketable fight for Fitch IMO is against Dustin "I'm not Jon Fitch" McLovin... Too bad they're not in the same weight class.

I like Fitch, but his game has looked a tad sloppy as of late and he really sqeeked past that third round against Mike Pierce. If he does that against Thiago, he may take a nap and the pressure to be a little more "explosive/exciting" may lead him to stray from his gameplan in order to actually finish a fight, at which point, I think he's seriously leaving himself open against Alves. I think the one big IF in this fight is how Alves makes weight. If he's drained, Fitch'll have an awfully easier time pushing the pace and securing the ground attack and velcro himself to Alves.
BUT.....if Alves comes in bright eyed and bushy tailed, I see Fitch having a helluva time getting him to the ground and just absorbing a lot of punishment trying to take it to the ground. Of the two of them, I'd wager to say that Alves has looked better than Fitch since the last time they fought and I think I'll take Alves over Fitch on his way to a showdown with somebody like Daley or Rumble or maybe BJ, while I really see GSP being preoccupied with Akiyama by years end, who I'm more and more anticipating a drop to 170 and an automatic title shot. | Great post , pretty much exactly what I was gonna say.
Alves has improved dramatically since the last time he fought Fitch. Fitch's last 5 wins have all come by decision. While Alves' last 5 fights he won were 4 Tkos and 1 decision. While Fitch is dry humping top 20s, Alves has been finishing or beating alot of top 10s.
Its no big secret that Alves has improved much much more. Also Alves has more ways to win the fight IMO. The only thing I can see Fitch doing is winning a LnP decision or MAYBE a GnP stoppage. And thats only if Fitch can hold Alves down, and hes shown time and time again in his last four fights that his TDD is no joke.
Fitch is gonna want no part of the stand up and is gonna be shooting for TD's like theres no tommorow, whats better for a guy who has some of the most vicious knees in the UFC?
Alves by TKO Stoppage(Knee then punches) Rd2. Quote: |

Fitch took a straight whippin against Gsp, period. He claims he is a better fighter now than he was then, well lets hope so! Now if fitch has been finishing people since the Gsp fight, then ok I would agree, but fitch, wake up, you are just like sean sherk, decision, decision, decision, decision, decision, get my point? Gsp by train wrecked looking face, again (fitch), thats my bet.

honestly i think the winner of Fitch/Alves should fight the winner of Kos/Daley and that should determine the next shot. In the meantime i saw a post for Silva being ok with a shot at Rush and i know Rush is trying to carry more weight... so I say IF he dominates Hardy let him fight Silva at a catchweight or middleweight.. then let him defend his title.. jus as long as he doesnt get hurt from fighting Silva. thats my opinion tho jus throwin some ideas out |

Fitch deserves the title shot hes just not very marketable... Daley\Kos - the winner of this fight is a bit more exciting for GSP at least for casual fans that don't know how good and deserving Fitch is.
I have my money on Alves in the rematch. Alves has improved on TDD, hes gotten even bigger and more beast-like. If Fitch can't take him down then there's gonna be a knockout. Alves just got done training for GSP so hes in shape verse a wrestler and I don't think people gave Alves enough credit for how many times he actually got up verse GSP, nor the time he had GSP on his back. If Alves and Daley win then I see a definite contender match, very marketable.

I like Fitch, but the last thing Captain Decision needs to do is criticize someone else inability to finish the fight.
I dont see him catching Alves with another upkick so hes in for a hell of a fight. Didnt he take somewhat of a beating last time till the upkick?
