GSP said Fitch was his toughest title defense. I think if anyone should get a shot it should be Fitch, after that Kos. Then from there we will have to see. Daley would have nothing for GSP, he is not well rounded enough. I think Fitch will beat Alves again, a lot of people under estimate Jon but the dude is good. He may not be the most exciting fighter but he very tough, very skilled and impossible to finish.

Fitch is a blanket. He doesn't finish fights. Kos and Daley are ahead of him by far. Fitch won't stop Thiago, he will probably take him down and ride him for 15 min for a decision. That won't be worthy of a title shot.

Honestly, I'm not sure this fight goes down much different from the last, minus the upkick KO. Kos lost to Alves because (besides taking the fight on short notice) he tried to stand with him too much, and because his wrestling is very shot-reliant. Fitch is more of a grinder, and his wrestling is more clinch-based, and he has no illusions about how his striking compares to Alves'.

Fitch by UD. On a final note, I'm not sure I want to see a Fitch/GSP rematch yet. Maybe after a GSP/Silva superfight.

I agree that Mike Pierce has proven to be a solid WW, but at the same time he has shown that Fitch's game has still not evolved. He struggles against guys who can match him in grappling, and his stand up is sloppy. I don't think I've seen anything from him to make me think a rematch with GSP will look any different. I think Alves has improved his takedown defense vastly since he fought Fitch last time, and I think the fight will look very different. I think Alves KO's Fitch.

I honestly rather see a rematch of GSP/Kos, or GSP/Daley. If Alves works on either losing some weight so he is faster or working more on his inside game and outmuscling opponents, I think he can be very dangerous. GSP basically used his speed and reach to pick apart Alves from the outside, I would have liked to see Alves force the clinch and use his knees and elbows more.

I think GSP/Silva is the biggest fight the UFC can make outside of Lesnar vs anyone, and if they both win their next fights it will be very likely if they can work out what weight they will fight at. I think GSP will get murdered, but he has so much to gain and not much to lose by taking the fight.

As a mod may be you can do something about this. Possibly hold a screening process for new members testing their knowledge of mma with a series of questions. If they pass they are allowed to post on any subject, if they fail only post on noobjack.

Just a thought.
