I'll be impressed if Hellboy can re-invent himself as a FW...but I'll be stunned if he stops Fernandes. I'm really hoping that the cut works well for him and he doesn't pull a Sanchez, particularly since he's had more success at LW than Diego ever had at WW.

I don't see him fighting for Zuffa unless they start paying him what he's worth...they were offering him 20 + 20 when he "refus[ed] to fight for the American promotion" which is garbage, compared to what they're paying guys like Leben who are perpetually one [lay and pray] fight away from having their ass out the door.

actually... they used kg, and not pounds. their weight classes had always been in 10kg/22lb increments. hence: 161, 183, 205...

guess what's 22kg less than 161?

they changed their lw and mw to be more universal, but they didn't change the rest. their ww is still 168, fw is 139, and their hw is open.

i mean... 161 was to favor gomi, 139 to favor kid, 168 to favor aoki. err, sakurai. and open hw to favor zulu. right?

edit: and zuffa bought his contract and then offered him HALF of his contracted amount to fight. hansen stated numerously that he would never fight for them, and said he'd "rather have bleeding hemorrhoids"

I hope the WEC takes notice and signs Hell Boy for their FW division. Could you imagine how much fun it would be to watch Hansen v. Aldo, Brown, or Faber? Sounds like some fun matches to me.

I agree with what you are saying, but I just want to play Devil's advocate for a second.

40K for one fight is good money period, I am willing to bet 75% of the members on this forum do not make that much in a year. This 40K would also lead to more sponsorships because Hansen would be seen by far more people then fighting for Dream. So that equals some more dough as well. Also lets not forget the bonus's that he could might, ie KO of the night and fight of the night. So this is not really garbage when you also factor in 80% of the people who watch the UFC probably have no idea who Hansen is, but would walk up to Leben for an autograph. I think fighters for the most part get paid crap, but I mean if the guy won 3 fights in a year thats 120K. Add in one KO bonus and extra sponsorship money he would probably be making 250K+ a year. And if he did win 3 fights in a row, I am willing to bet the UFC would give him a pretty decent rise. For some reason, I doubt Hansen is making 250K a year or even close in Dream.
