A big win for Gomi would really shake things up in the UFC's LW division, and I can see it being an instant title shot. But I think Florian is a much more well-rounded fighter, and Gomi has been stale lately. He could benefit a lot from a few tune up fights, but I think Gomi is being fed to the sharks.

I was confused for a few seconds there......Nate Diaz? WTF?
I guess fightersonlymagazine made a mistake. Tried to look at their link to the Japanese article on kamipro's website and it wasn't even there. Must have been a written article they tried to translate and got the wrong Diaz brother.
If he can beat Ken-Flo then he has a chance at beating BJ. To me, Ken-flo has the same skillset as BJ, just less. I think Ken-flo has trained himself to be on par with BJ....and so far has just fallen short. Ken flo is real well rounded....I expect Ken-flo by TKO....I also expect Gomi to be bleeding.
I hope Ken-flo does a bloody glove lick a-la BJ...that would be sick.

Before Gomi thinks about Bj he had better come in shape when he fights Florian. To me Gomi reminds me of a young Bj because he never seems to be in great shape. Florian is going to make this a fight and we know he has awsome conditioning. If Florian comes in with a good gameplan like trading a few shots and taking Gomi down then I think he wins this fight. If he just stands with Gomi I think he will probably get Ko'ed.

I can only hope it does happen. The LW division needs a new contender and to KO Florian would be great hype.
Crossing my fingers till then.

If Gomi takes this to the ground, a GNP TKO is mere moments away.

Bold statement for sure, but we've all seen crazier shit happen. The Vitor-Franklin fight comes to mind when looking at the possible outcome

I know this has been brought up before, but why do they always bring in top level fighters and sign them to fight a premier UFC fighter before they can acclimate to octagon fighting and UFC rules? Especially fighters from Pride and Japan. They come in and lose and it is so anti climactic. This is a real reason why so many divisions have so few contenders. Maybe this was Gomi's choice but, I would love to see these new Japanese fighters get as many tuneup fights as they give TUF winners.
Now that I actually think about it I bet that these fighters are getting paid more so Dana is not going to waste any of the fights on their contract on tune-up fights. Maybe.

Unfortunatly my money is on Florian. Like Chico said, let Gomi get aclimatized first.
