If that arena is real then its really insane. I have never seen an Arena like that.
About MMA being popular as Soccer, no, that wont happen ever. I hope that in 10/15 years MMA will become the second most popular sport in the world, because there is no way it will become more popular than soccer.

This is pretty huge.
As people have said, it's going to be interesting to see how company's like Mickeys & Bud Light react to not being allow to advertise.
As for the octagon girls, we may see our 1st Octagon Guy (hey, it's no more homoerotic than Anderson Silva's shorts) or our 1st fully-clothed Octagon Girl Quote: |
If it's successfull then Dana will be one step closer to making MMA as popular as soccer
| No chance.
Football is the worlds most popular sport, and will never loose that crown

It is in Ferrari World: Ferrari World - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Here is a high quality pic....just click on it....it's huge: File:Ferrari World June 2009.JPG - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
They had the 2009 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix event there. I went to the Yas Marina Hotel and they have a picture with wine bottle on the table. I double checked: Welcome to Yas Marina CircuitC - About Abu Dhabi Quote:
Behaviour (and rules on alcohol and drugs)
Abu Dhabi and the UAE are moderate and progressive Muslim states and many non-Muslim beliefs and ways of life are tolerated and accepted. However, there are some strict rules of which every visitor should be aware. All public shows of affection between adults are outlawed; this applies to visitors as well as locals. Hand-holding and kissing are not permitted and can cause offence to locals. If a complaint is made against you, the outcome can be serious with fines and a potential prison sentence. All restaurants located within hotels have a license to serve alcohol but all others are forbidden from doing so and ‘bring-your-own’ policies popular in some western countries are not possible here. Drunkenness is an extremely serious offence in the UAE and Abu Dhabi and there is a zero tolerance policy for drink-driving. Drug possession and trafficking are treated similarly with culprits receiving harsh penalties for small amounts. There is no such thing as personal use. Drugs are not tolerated.
During the Holy Month of Ramadan, visitors are expected to refrain from eating, drinking and smoking in public places during the daylight hours. However, hotels cater to their non-Muslim guests by opening restaurants that are not exposed to public view.
| It will also be interesting what time of day they hold UFC 112.....will their be prayers during the event? If it happens after sunset, prayer should happen 2 hours after sunset. No, I'm not being a dick, I have Muslim friends and friends who go through Ramadan.
It should be really interesting.

I hope they do some falconry.....since it's like their national sport. That would be sweet....Ring Bird.....carry a card showing the round to the falconer that stands in the octagon.
They could do some crazy stuff.

another stupid thing. why do americans call it soccer when EVERYONE else in the world call it football? than they call THEIR sport football when only they play and they rarely actually kick balls. | American football - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Quote: |
The history of American football can be traced to early versions of rugby football and association football. Both games have their origins in varieties of football played in the United Kingdom in the mid-19th century, in which a ball is kicked at a goal and/or run over a line.
| College football - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Quote:
Modern American football has its origins in various games, all known as "football", played at public schools in England in the mid-19th century. By the 1840s, students at Rugby School were playing a game in which players were able to pick up the ball and run with it, a sport later known as Rugby football. The game was taken to Canada by British soldiers stationed there and was soon being played at Canadian colleges.
The 1869 game between Rutgers and Princeton is important in that it is the first documented game of any sport called "football" (which also encompasses the game of Association Football) between two American colleges. It is also notable in that it came a full-two years before a codified rugby game would be played in England. The Princeton/Rutgers game was undoubtedly different from what we today know as American football. Nonetheless it was the forerunner of what evolved into American football
