| Alistair Overeem: "I will sign with the UFC right away if the terms are right." Quote: |
"I'm not going to discuss the UFC too much with the media. But I will say that when they show me terms I like, I'll sign... Money is important but it isn't everything. There are some conditions they have that I don't like. But like I said, when the terms are right I will sign right away."
| I get the feeling these "conditions" are his not being free to compete in K-1 or any other organization and, y'know, not being allowed to shoot himself up with more juice than a Tropicana factory.

I don't see him ever fighting for the UFC, for the reasons you listed above. Great find.

Fighters enjoy their freedom. The UFC offers a lot of money and sponsorship opportunities but at the cost of your freedom. It's a give and take. Fighters sign with companies not only for money, but for interesting fights. If the UFC had a stacked HW division we would see a lot more fighters jumping ship to the UFC for that very reason. If Overeem keeps winning there are just going to be so many fights left for him that have any relevance outside of the UFC.

UFC HW division has a lot of up and comers with under 15 pro fights who have lots of potential; to say it is stacked is an over statement. A year ago it was "HW division is so weak" but I guess some people have really short attention spans.

It's basically the only hw division in all of MMA, not literally, but I think you get the idea. So how it isn't stacked in the eyes of a select few is rather mind boggling. Whatever, though. It's their opinion.
I get the whole 'freedom' of speech he's trying preach, but if fighters don't like that part of the contract, then they don't have to sign. Just like the majority of the fighters that's already under contract with UFC. Nobody held a gun to their heads. if that was the case, then surely Fedor would've signed already.
I'm curious, does Overeem know that Athletic Commisions do drug testing here in the states?

Nog, Brock, Mir, Carwin, Cro Cop, Cain , Dos Santos, Gabe, Ivel, Herring, Kongo
The only guys of any real consequence out side are Fedor, Alistair (Roid boy) and Barrnett (Roid boy). The others are all UFC cast offs, who could not hang with the new group of heavyweights.
So yeah I'd say it is pretty stacked at the moment.

It would be silly for the UFC to give him any conditions when you consider how much trouble those conditions gave SF.

UFC HW division isn't stacked but it is the deepest in any PRO MMA ORG.
