You know how people used to think Albert Einstein was a crazy dude, but then long after he died we realized he was a genius? Well, maybe that's what we have in Nick Diaz. A man respected for his craft, yet someone who doesn't seem to fully understand his surroundings.
A man, who despite possessing the ability to be great at what he does, consistently makes decisions that for all intents and purposes harm his very well being. Sure, some of what he says and does makes very little to sense to us. But is that because Mr. Diaz is well ahead of his time?
Diaz tells Ariel Helwani that there are certain topics we shouldn't touch with him. Like the word - excited."I don't really use that word," he said. "I think I had this discussion earlier. I have a lot of energy, so I feel good."
And as to whether or not Nick has a dream fight, he had to think about for a minute, but then had a pretty sweet idea. I think he means fighting both of them at once. "Um... no. Actually, right now, I'd like to fight both GSP and Anderson Silva because I think I could beat them," declared the defiant welterweight. "But they [UFC] won't ever let that happen."
When asked about how he envisioned the fight with Zaromskis ending, Diaz seemed to surprise himself with his answer:
"I don't. I don't."
Diaz also shared some interesting thoughts on how he thinks fights should be judged. Imagine if NFL games were determined in this fashion. I would argue that the New York Giants went undefeated every season of their existence. "It's about who would have won the fight had the fight kept going," he reasons. "Not who was winning, but who would have won."
Despite owning a 6-4 record inside the Octagon, Diaz feels as though his record should read as 9-1. "I don't feel like I won the fight against Diego Sanchez," he concedes. "But other than that, I didn't lose any other fights in the UFC."

I really believe that people like Bill Murray or John Belushi are just as great and just as valid as Robert De Niro or Al Pacino. And I don't think you can say One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975) is a better movie than Animal House (1978); they're different genres. I think they're both examples of great craftsmanship.

You know, I'd really like to see him challenge GSP, because his subs and boxing are quite stellar and he's got a nice chin and some great reach and in comparison to every other WW challenger, Nick's got a stellar shot at really putting it to GSP.
I'd also love to see him challenge BJ Penn for the stylistic matchups and his overall skillset.
As far as Anderson....no.
I don't think he could BEAT GSP... or Penn, but they'd be SWEET fights, with tonnes of shittalking hype and legitimate threats to both fighter's legacy because Nick is the real deal. He's a well rounded talent, rather he just doesn't have tooooo much power in those fists. But he's technical, with awesome subs and good size, he gives GSP and Penn trouble for sure.
I'm nearly positive he can't beat Anderson, because his standup isn't POWERFUL enough to really do damage and I think his reach would be nullified by Anderson's and he'd somewhat be bullied by the bigger fighter. They're both technical, but I think Anderson's got the mental aspect to really complement his physical, whereas you never really know what to expect from Nick's personality.

If you watch the video, he seems so much more.... humble. Its so weird, he even cracked a smile halfway through the video. AND he only used one "fuck" in the whole interview. CRAZY world we live in now lol.

He got beaten by Diego Sanchez who got schooled by BJ Penn. Meanwhile BJ Penn got schooled by GSP.
What are the odds of him beating GSP let alone Anderson Silva who many seem to think can beat GSP. Honestly Clay Guida would probably give him all he can handle.
Now im a big time Diaz fan but im even more of a fan of his endo.

Jeezus crips, I honestly don't know if you're messing with me Roadie. It's always like an Andy Kaufman thing with you!!!!!
If you're not messing with me, then it's like THIS. Styles make fights. Nick's STYLE works pretty damn good against Penn and BASICALLY, works better than any other potential opponent to GSP, for he's got such awesome jits and solid boxing. He's got some really great potential to sub GSP and maybe strike with him to keep him honest. With Penn, I think his size and ground nullify ALOT of BJ's gameplan.
With all that being said, I'm quite sure you're messing with me.
