Andrei Arlovski to Fight in Boxing Exhibition Bout -- MMA Fighting Quote:
Still without a deal for a mixed marital arts fight, former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski is turning his attention towards a charity boxing fight on Feb. 27 in Miami, Fla.
Arlovski will face boxer in a four-round exhibition bout benefiting The Consequences Charity, an organization dedicated to reducing and preventing adolescent criminal behavior.
"I am honored to step into the ring with a great fighter like Fres Oquendo," Arlovski said Wednesday in a statement. "This is going to be an exciting exhibition match but we already know the winner: the children we are helping."
Arlovski, who trains with Freddie Roach, planned to box last year, but a fight never came to fruition due to injury and a role in a Universal Soldier film.
On the MMA front, Arlovski allegedly received an offer to fight Alistair Overeem at Dynamite!! 2009 on New Year's Eve, but DREAM replaced him with Kazuyuki Fujita for a reason unknown to Arlovski's camp.
| Fres Oquendo is a pretty damn good boxer. AA needs a MMA contract, can't wait to see him fight again.

Yeah I always wondered why he wanted to pursue boxing so hard when he has a horrible chin.
I'd much rather see him in MMA. I've been kind of fiending an Arlovski fight.

I've been craving an Arlovski fight so long it's not funny. Andrei is my favorite fighter. No matter how soft his chin may seem, and I say that tongue in cheek since nobody on this forum would be able to take a Rogers or Fedor punch to the nugget, he will always be in top shape, as fast as a lightweight, and ready to fight.

I hope he took notes from Timmey. He really needs to be careful with his chin. I heard he was working out with Jackson or planning to but I don't think I ever saw that confirmed. If anybody can fix AA, that's the man.

Holly, Fres Osquendo is good....I've seen him fight on TV a number of times. I mean, he doesn't have the best power, but he is a world class boxer. He's got good speed and defense. After losing to Chris Byrd he came 1 or 2 rounds away from beating the Quiet Man, John Ruiz. A couple fights later he came 3 rounds away from beating Holyfield.
I hope someone is recording this one....cause I want to see it.

I read on wikipedia it says that he is training out of Greg Jackson's camp, but don't see any real information to back that up....other than a 10 day stint Arlovski to Train with Jackson’s Academy
This was before the talks of him fighting at Dynamite 2009 in Japan on new Years Eve.
