Maybe he just didn't like the fact that he could only fight on SF cards that Fedor was fighting on. Nothing more.

I've been saying for awhile that Gegard was moving away from M-1. Its a smart move. And after hes done with his SF contract he will sign with the UFC. He has stated he wants to fight in the UFC, and being with M-1 would make that very hard.Hopefuly his last fight in SF is against Hendo and he beats him. I could just imagine what Dana would say then,lol.

If anyone hasn't realized....M-1 = a way for foreign fighters to funnel money to their own country without having to pay all the taxes.
In my opinion, this is why Gegard made $2,000 and no win bonus to beat Babalu....and his payment at the Fedor vs Rogers event where he fought Sokoudjou was never released.
No way to prove it, but this explains how some foreign fighters seem to get barely any money but never say anything about it.
Now that Mousasi wants to be an American and has moved some of his family there, he wants it all to be legit and on the table....I bet next time he gets paid, it will be comparable to the rest of Strikeforce fighters.
Another thing, he said he wants to retire by 30, so of course he is going to the UFC...probably after his next couple Strikeforce fights.....and he still wants to fight 4+ times a year. After 1 or 2 Strikeforce fights and 1 or 2 fights in Japan, he'll be picked up by the UFC and after 1 maybe 2 fights with the UFC, he'll get a shot at the title.

Def. good to hear him part ways with M-1. I would imagine him comgin to the ufc but no earlier then maybe 2011, and only if he keeps dominating.
