At the same time I find out Vitor wont be fighting, I discover this thread, lol gotta like that.
Well its good to hear they wont be scratching him from the card all together. But if he's defending his belt I cant see it being no one else but Sonnen. Sure Maia has the better record and already beat Sonnen, but that doesnt matter to Zuffa. Sonnen just had a HUGE win over Marquardt, who was arguably the #1 contender, thats all they need right there.
Im not a big fan of Sonnen's style myself, but I have respect for a man who can go in there and take out some top competition, even if I dont find it super exciting.
Now about the matchup. Can Sonnen take Silva down? Id say Yes. But can he hold him down for 25 mins? Id say no. Every round starts standing, and thats where Anderson wants to be, so its up to Sonnen to get it to the ground consistently every round without getting seriously rocked. Good Luck with that.

I think Nate still has the best chance at beating Silva out of any MW but you can't hand someone a title shot after a loss.

This makes it almost a given that Silva will fight at 205 for this card. There is literally NO OTHER MIDDLEWEIGHT in the UFC right now who is within sniffing distance of a title shot other than Chael Sonnen...as much as it pains me to say that.
People have been tossing Bisping's name around should he defeat Wandy next weekend, but methinks the UFC might wait for a bigger established venue to promote that potential matchup.

I can totally see Dana buying out whatever contract Mousasi has left to get him in this super fight. Like everyone else has posted there is really no other MW who you can even make the slightest case for to bring in for a title match.

Im probably going to get ripped for this one but, Personally I would like them to offer a fight to Anthony Johnson at MW.
Ok, I know he just lost to Kos, and all, BUT IMO the guy is truly a MW in the future for the UFC. Give this guy some money and the shot. I think he would do some serious damage in that division.
But you never know the UFC might not find anyone and probably give it to the likes of Kendall Grove....

Aaron Simpson i would love to see Nate quarry get a shot if were going keep throwing out names that should not be there i,e Condit Carlos , Anthony Johnson, at least Nate is a MW
