Yeah, i called this one. I think this is going to be a great match up, and a dangerous one for Silva. Maia is not on Silvas stand up level but Silva is not on Maias BJJ level. This is very interesting, but obviously Maias best bet is to take it to the ground maybe pull guard then sweep. I am going out and saying it right now Maia by 3rd submission victory.

| cant say that im suprised
Im not even a little surprised to be honest, chael has injuries and nate just lost, so it makes sense for maia to step up to the plate. i see this stopping in the second round stoppage in favor of silva by KO/TKO and to pinpoint i would say 2 mins into round 2

Chael is also 4-3 in the UFC and lost the man who go the shot. It might not say much since its been 1 yr since, but fact of the matter is he lost to maia and he is still 4-3 in the organization.
I stay firm with Maia deserving it more. But I also agree with him not being ready for silva.
Anderson def Maia KO/TKO 1st round minute 3:00-4:00 if goes beyond 4:00 it will end in rd 2 3:00-3:30

I called this fight about a year and a half ago and thought Maia would be the person to upset Silva. If Maia works on his defense and gets Anderson to the ground... he has a fantastic chance. He'll have to keep it on the ground, though.

This is a joke. I think it'll end up like the Thales fight, just 5 rounds of fish flopping.

they sure didnt waste any time announcing a replacement kind of makes me think its cause they dont want any questions rehashing the whole dan henderson situation, anderson has great bjj and his vast strength advantage over maia will help him get out of whatever maia has to offer, i see maia getting hurt bad, he wont act like thales he will come in confident and either get cut worse than the sandman or get a limb snatched, didnt maia at one time say something to the effect that he wanted to break andersons arm or that he would if given a match, oh boy he's going to get it real bad. can we just switch wanderlie and maia's matchups. wandy and silva deserve big matchups at this point in their careers and maia at this point needs to beat a very well rounded fighter without knockout power hence bisping and then a title shot might make sense.

Very good chance Maia will end up down the same road as Thales, to think otherwise is ignorant.
