Face the facts, Leben DOES have talent. He is a great wrestler with excellent sub defense, BUT prefers to bang....

My issue isn't with leben per se. He's a C level fighter with a lot of heart, and that's about it. Yes, people are going to want to watch him, for the same reason they watch people jerk off into each others food on that shitty reality show. And many of them use terms like "bub."

My issue is that the UFC promotes him over better fighters--and more importantly--cuts much, much better fighters while they keep him around.

If the UFC was doing half as much as people think they are about making the sport mainstream, they wouldn't completely cater to the clueless mooks who just discovered it via TUF, they'd try to guide those clueless mooks into understanding what the sport offers besides "a dood with a button on his chin that makes him counter every time you punch him."

I fully disagree with that but thats your opinion not mine.

now i don't often agree with rivethead but Leben is sloppy as hell, 4-5 in his last 9 fights, had a recent DUI and also failed a drugs test

Henderson wasn't released, there wasn't really a contract dispute, he just didn't sign one

First name to spring to mind of a better fighter than Leben who has been cut - Tamdan McCrory

edit: lest we forget Fabricio Werdum, the man who since then won ADCC and now looks likely to face the man widely considered to be the no1 p4p fighter in the world, Fedor

i'll admit that for some reason or other i have a soft spot in my heart for the barn cat and i was bummed to hear they let him go but lets be honest he lost a few fights in a row and wasnt really popular to begin with so....

im not saying leben is a good fighter or technically sound but he is a decent wrestler and has some good sub defense; but mainly he goes out there looking to knock somebody's head off and i cant say that i dont enjoy that...but i guess im just a clown

p.s. im not saying he belong on the main card but as stated before probably mainly for simpson. (Aaron better keep his chin down and hands up or that might backfire on him)

as for the contract thing, henderson not signing a contract because of money issues or title shot issues is still considered a contract dispute.
