And he was probably saying it in the heat of the moment.

meh...drama is drama.
differentiating between the two [or three, or a thousand] is like arguing over who the thinnest kid at fat camp is.

Personally I can't be bothered by when these fighters say these things. Most of the time it's just a fighters figure of speech, or a metaphor. I know in my life i've had a few situations where i've said i'm gonna kill somebody but I didn't actually mean death, it's just the most intense way of beating somebody and I get that. But I think Mir is certainly doing a good job of keeping himself relevent.
As for the Dana White comment, that has nothing to do with this at all. Totally different thing altogether and if you look at that comment and think to yourself ``oh no dana wants walker dead`` then you need to take a moment to reflect cause that`s silly. He`s just saying Walker would be so overwhelmed in the UFC that he would die. not actually die, just a figure of speech, and to compare these comments is foolish

There's a difference between people saying I'm going to go out and there and have a war and you'll have to kill me to beat me or i'm gonna kill him than saying, I hope he's the first person ever to die of octagon related injuries.

I think that people need to keep in mind the these aren't regular guys, they're pro fighters. Fighters tend to be aggressive people, and some are overly aggressive, I also feel that aggressive people tend to use aggressive language.
With that being said i'd like to say that these people, being at the level of competition that they are at, should know better than to say things like this on the record or where people outside of their "safety net" can hear them. There was a young person on the forum yesterday that said he was trying to convince his dad to let him go into mma and his dad saw Mir's comments, which apparently didn't help the kid's argument that mma is a sport, not a deathmatch. Right now i'm feeling bad for this kid because Mir's comments kind of screwed up this kid's plan of getting into mma.
My personal opinion on those types of comments is that they're just comments. I'm pretty sure someone like Frank Mir understands the ramifications of making those comments, but i think that they are being blown out of proportion. I think we should all agree, things were said that shouldn't have been and hopefully they aren't said again.
(I feel the need to say that i'm a Frank Mir fan, i wasn't trying to bash anyone.)

Sherdog's Jordan Breen tweeted this the other day, I'm inclined to agree Quote: |
If you are even remotely piqued by Mir saying he wants to kill Lesnar, you're are a mark, an idiot, or a crybaby. Or all three. Seriously.

And in regards to all this killing, murdering talk, Frank went a little overboard compared to everyone else. When people say they are going to murder someone in the ring or something like it all they mean is that they are going to whoop some ass. Frank totally took it another level by saying that he wanted to break Brock's neck and make him die in the ring.
It's obvious that the other examples are expressions of fighters pumping up for a fight, not really literally making it seem that they would kill their opponent. | Exactly. Mir doesn't have control over his mouth. So many think he just does this kind of thing to hype a fight or affect his opponent, but I still get the idea he has no control over his mouth. The loss to Lesnar is something he was never prepared for and he has yet to come to terms with it. I believe he could fight him 10 times, lose each and every time, and still want more.
