The UFC knows Rampage can still make them money and a lot of money, unlike Hendo. Page is posturing for a sweet deal like Randy and Tito got. A deal that the UFC would not give Hendo, one of the reasons he is gone....but that is a whole other issue.
I hope your right, cause a motivated Rampage is at the very least top 3 Lhw in the world.

I certainly get your point overall about the competition level in S/F... but come on... Glass chin? Sobral has lost 9 fights out of 44 and only 4 of those losses have been by KO... twice by Chuck and once by Mousasi. I really think it's unreasonable to say Babalu has a glass chin based on that..... I also think that would be a pretty good fight to watch since Quinton has no ground game at all and Babalu has a pretty aggressive ground game.

We as human beings tend to need a cause. We also tend to NEED enemies. People at every type of job have the tendency to demonize their bosses. It helps employees feel a common bond. This my friends is simple human psychology.

Many of us learn that, to use a cliche, the grass is NOT always greener on the other side. It's just the way the light is reflecting on it from where you're standing. Listen, i'm not saying the UFC and Dana White are innocent in all of this, but Rampage will soon discover that all of his new found good fortune, have quite a bit to do with the exposure he got in the UFC.

And when everyone else was saying Rampage Jackson was nuts, Dana White stood with him. Once he steps back and looks hard at the whole situation he may just calm down a bit.

And of course I more than realize there can be more to this than we know as well.

I have to side with Dana on this. I don't believe Dana said he would get Machida after TUF? That makes no sense? Why would they have him and Rashad as opposing coaches if they weren't going to fight?

I think the UFC treated and treats Rampaged very well. With their contracts, they own your ass so the a-team and the other B movies he did probably had to be okay'ed by the UFC first. They did.

I thought they would try and bury him when he knocked chuck out. Dana's boy. The UFC's golden boy at the time for years. But they pushed him just as hard as anyone else.

That "incident" if you want to be diplomatic, in which he flipped out in the middle of traffic... any other company would have buried his ass. Even fake WWE wouldn't have stood for that. Pink slip automatically.

UFC makes Mir apologize for saying he wants brock to die but stand by Rampage when he gets in a real situation that makes national headlines that makes him look like a freaking lunatic...

From that car he was driving, looks like they pay him pretty good too.

He doesn't let people screw him over? LOL! Hello, wtf was he doing all those years in Pride? He says they screwed him over. Yet, he never jumped ship.

Rampage just needs to come out and say it. He doesn't want to fight anymore, he wants to act. It's the acting bug. Pro wrestlers like the Rock got it, he was done with wrestling. Musicians get it. I don't know what it is, other than having a really freaking easy job and getting paid a lot of money for it, but people get that acting bug and they are done with what they always claimed as their life's passion.

Sucks though, Rampage is an awesome fighter.

You say they treat him well and then the next sentence you say their BS contracts "own the fighters ass"?

I don't think the UFC has to okay anything outside of the UFC, except for that no pooping clause between fights. Rampage and every other UFC fighter risks their personal health each time they step in to fight. They have no rights inside the UFC, no union, very poor pay (especially for the lower end fighters) and all fighters must pay $10k+ a year for proper training. There are long term health effects that fighters face in the future. I would take the $100k or whatever Page got for this movie since it is risk free and gives him exposure, as well as a possible future outside of fighting when he gets too old.

They pushed him HARDER than anyone else. He was the new UFC work horse once Chuck was kind of out of the game. Two TUF's, not enough time off between fights and he gets beef when he does something for himself...

Bullshit sensationalism here. One, stop comparing the UFC to the WWE. Two, HHH and another wrestler were in a fight on a plane, where one of the wrestlers got slammed up against the door to exit the plane. They were in the fucking air. Yeah, they got pink slips for that one.

The truth is that Dana is like any other CEO. He does not care about anything but profit. Rampage was a big UFC investment and one of the faces of the organization. Dana was not his knight in shining armor, he was just doing damage control.

His next fight will be pretty telling if he wants to fight anymore. MMA does not equal WWE. Brock went from WWE to movies to UFC did he not? What the hell are you talking about.

Agreed with V3XI. Rampage did the right thing by doing this movie. Opportunities like this don't come very often in Hollywood whereas MMA is basically just a f*cking niche sport where 98% of the fanbase know f*ck-all about anything that goes on inside the cage. And the pay is a joke not to mention the things V3XI touched on regarding no health-care nor paid training expenses.
The kind of world-wide exposure Rampage is going to get from this movie could set him for life in terms of opportunities. Not only the great possibility that he's going to get a lot more movie roles but also the fact that he played what I consider a "dream role". I don't think anybody who wasn't born in the 80s really understands the popularity of Mr.T in his heyday. B.A Baracus was an icon. I even have the 12" action figure I bought in '83. The A-Team was all about the character of B.A Baracus. Every kid in school wanted to be him. Not to mention the legendary catchphrases which are worldwide popular.
This movie will do very well and Rampage is going to have a career after MMA. He's got to look out for number 1. F*ck the UFC I say. Movies is where it's at. At least Page won't have to lose anymore brain cells. Anybody who can should find a way out of MMA if the opportunity for them is there.
Do you guys think Brock Lesnar would've even given a remote f*ck about the UFC if the NFL came calling? LOL!

Hell yes he did the right thing! This is a potential blockbuster movie. It has a great cast and it's probably the only opportunity like this he'll ever get. Everyone one on this forum would most likely drop what they're doing for that opportunity. What's Dana really going to do? Rampage is a big draw for the UFC and one of their most charismatic personalities. Now Dana gets to let the whole world know one of his biggest stars is in a hollywood blockuster. I'm certain there'll be some A-Team commercials during some UFC events. Rampage knew he could go back as soon as this was over and still get a fight with a top 5 guy. Dana would do the same thing in Page's shoes. If Dana is against acting then he shouldn't have started a TV show and put Rampage on it. The bad blood between Tito and Dana paid big dividends for the UFC so for Dana this is right out of his playbook. He's more WWE than he knows.

I don't know, they tried to give him his grudge match with Rashad in his own home town and everything...So maybe Dana and Rampage should just hug it out

I agree,you fight without passion,just for money,not a good idea,so move on.

Rampage Good Luck with Rashad because one of you is getting Knocked out cold and if its you i hope you find the passion for fighting again but if you don't i wish you the best in your movie career
I take it you didn't watch the Rashad/Thiago fight. Rashad isn't KO'ing anybody. After getting KTFO ala Lyoto Machida, he went back to his roots, and isn't all too eager to stand and trade. I, for one, don't blame him at all for that. Not every fighter is a punching bag (Griffin & Liddell).

I wish Rampage the best with his movie career and i'll be watching 'The A-Team' on opening night. Hopefully, though, after he's fulfilled his contract with the UFC, he goes back and does stick with acting. He's got nothing left to prove in the fight game, IMHO. Hollywood should be his next conquest.. or atleast an attempt, lol.
