| Josh Barnett Says Nobody Wants to Fight Him http://www.cagepotato.com/josh-barne...ants-fight-him Quote:
(His body is in the ring, but his mind is still back in the locker room, trying to come up with an eight-letter word for 'Movie opening.')
Contrary to what you’ve seen on the internet lately, Josh Barnett is not content to spend the rest of his life trading mean faces with Bob Sapp and roughing up hapless foes in regional grappling tournaments. He really does want to fight for real again, or so he declared on his Twitter recently, but the problem is that he can’t find an opponent. At least, he can’t find a heavyweight opponent willing to meet him in Japan, which is sort of his only option at the moment since he can’t seem to get right with the athletic commissions back home in the U.S.
Barnett told fans he’d heard a “rumor” that both Tim Sylvia and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva (both of whom have tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs at some point in their past) had each turned down fights with Babyface in Dream. How much fact there is in that rumor, we can’t really say, but it wouldn’t exactly surprise us to hear that “The Maine-iac” is more or less done fighting quality opponents and has decided instead to crush whatever cans Monte Cox lines up for him.
So if Barnett won’t be facing off against either of those fellow juicers (sorry “Bigfoot,” we meant alleged juicers), does that mean he’ll be watching Dream.13 on TV? Not necessarily. As Fighters Only reports, British heavyweight Neil Grove is said to be waiting to find out whether he might face Alistair Overeem or Barnett on the March 22 card.
Either seems plausible, just as it seems very likely that we won’t find out anything for sure until the last minute. But we can’t help but wonder, if both Overeem and Barnett are up for fighting in Japan later this month, and if Dream has access to them both, why not throw them in there against one another?
Nah, that’d never work. I mean, who wants to see a fight that’s actually competitive?

I really don't know how he would be on the ground now, his sheer strength and size must make him a handful, and hard to keep down I'm thinking.
Still, Barnett by UD. Like they say, all that muscle Overeem is carrying needs to be fed with oxygen, and sooner or later all the takedowns will tire him, that is if he doesn't land one of those huge knees first, then it's lights out for Josh.

No one wants to fight Barnett because they don't wanna train for months to arrive at the weigh-ins only to see Josh Barnett off the fight card because his piss had a syringe in it.
I don't think the WWE Champion wants to fight Josh Barnett right now....

Overeem vs. Barnette -- why not? Both are juicers who cant be relied on, have it in Japan.

Nobody wants to fight him because he's a disgrace to the sport. Skipped out on his hearing for a pro wrestling match. Sure, I know he has bills but they don't schedule that shit the day before... mma is either a priority or not. And more importantly, when you are accused of juicing as an athlete, proving your innocence, if you are, is your number one priority. He could work a pro wrestling event every night in Japan, this one was easily missed. When you are in the dog house like that, you don't just carry the attitude that you don't have to show up. That looks like you don't care. Now, just days after that, he's running his mouth? Nobody wants to fight him? LOL! People have tried! You idiot, you had a shot with Fedor! All those years of talking shit and you bitched out!
Why act brave when you are obviously a coward who doubts himself to the point he has to juice...
Bottom line is, why would anyone agree to fight him? 1. He's a nobody, only hardcore mma fans and japan pro wrestling fans know him. 2. Why agree to a fight that isn't going to happen because Josh will juice up and fail the test anyway?
Sad. I feel like an idiot... I used to think josh had brains. Fool me once...

In regards to skillset and overall talent, I'd quite prefer to see Barnett/Arlovksi prior to vs. Overeem or Sylvia, because I still think Barnett's a top three HW and a showdown with Arlovski would be something awesome to watch. Werdum's another fighter whose caliber is closer to Barnett's than say a Rogers or Bigfoot.
And in that, I agree that PROBABLY nobody wants to fight Barnett, since he's a sick, SICK fighter with tonnes of raw talent and is somebody of consequence whenever he steps into a fight.

Sure enough, and what a shame too. Barnett is/was one of the most talented HW imo but he really shit on himself. He's got a tough road back I think but would still like to see him in the mix on the up and up.
