there's a [fairly goofy metaphorical] story about two guys on a beach full of starfish drying in lowtide. One picks up a starfish and throws it back in the water and the other says something to the effect of he's wasting his time, he'll never be able to save all of them. And the first guy says he was able to save that one, though. And then he picks up another one.
I know, starfish suck, but I'm pleased that dana is doing the right thing here. If I thought about the people I
couldn't help every time I'm moved to do something right, I'd never have the energy to do anything at all, and I wouldn't be able to even help the first person.

I'm not sure if they're referring to his personal donation of £5,000 or the £56,000 that the campaign has in it. The math would be close either way.
