Also, I get the feeling that the up and comers in the UFC get their high rankings simply because they are in the UFC, not because of the guys they have beat. For example, Werdum has much better wins then Carwin, but he has losses since he has consistently fought better fighters.
Also, I think the article is fundamentally flawed in that it is saying that the fighters who were in their prime in Pride struggling shows that the newer fighters in the UFC are vastly superior. Its a fact that in the fight game, fighters do not perform well at the end of their careers, unless they retire early. Just because Nogueira, Cro Cop, and Wanderlei are not the same fighters they were in Pride, does not mean Pride was worse.
But its hard to deny that the UFC has the best HW's right now, based mostly on quantity. They recently had a pretty massive influx of high caliber HW's, but they mostly have been kept away from each other. This upcoming year will do a lot to sort out who really are the top guys at HW in the UFC. | On an unrelated note, I oddly want to see Dufee fight Dos Santos.

hmm aa wasnt let go he left the ufc, and i think werdum can beat mir and carwin, fedor smashes all the big 4, big foot could beat mir or carwin as well but those are toss ups so id say more like 6 out of 10 , if you add fedor in there ufc big 4 wouldnt do so good, theres atleast 4 out of the top 10 hw outside the ufc depending on where you put ober i guess if you put him in there thats half the top 10, alot of the top 10 people are there just because they are in the ufc, like carwin, barnett and fedor can beat any hw the ufc has to offer hands down, and also i think werdum could beat most of them, so saying ufc has the best hws is crap i also wouldnt say strikeforce does, this cards good for the hws, most hw fights on 1 card in a long time but to make it the best fedor, werdum, and barnett would have to be included, ahh sorry bout rambling on like this

I like Barnett but no he can't beat any hw in the UFC, i do think Cain, Brock and Dos santos can and prolly would beat him. I also would like to see a Randy rematch.
Fedor would be interesting but i am not holding my breath.
Werdum is is good but would not be a title holder in the UFC, AO is a joke. I have three top ten hw outside of the ufc Barnett,Fedor,Werdum.

I don't think that Fedor will be on the May card, the way his payscale is set up it's not profitable for Strikeforce to book him on a card that only airs on Showtime. They get a lot more money when it airs on CBS.

I didn't bother reading the whole article as I stopped where it said Brett Rogers #8.. I had to laugh and shake my head really-really hard for a minute straight, lol. Anyway, the thread title states ' Could Strikeforce in May Be the Most Packed Heavyweight Card Since PRIDE?' It doesn't state 'Great'. 'Packed'; there's a big difference, which could mean 'great', but not neccessarily. It could simply just mean 'Packed'. Let's face it, that's a rather 'Packed' card.
Anyways, hopefully Overeem passes his drug test. Quote:
