And on the Kalib Starnes arguement, here's a thread from when right after it happened. Kalib claims he broke his foot on the first kick he threw and then everyone called him a pussy. http://www.mmanews.com/forums/genera...oken-foot.html
Here's some quotes from that thread... Quote:
jlruthven84 - Rich Franklin broke his hand and then proceeded to use it to thrash David Loiseau for another few rounds.
Deal with it, Starnes.
| Quote: |
Clint - If I remember correctly, Franklin broke both hands (one was just really bad) and screwed up his ankle in that fight. Yet still won.
| Quote:
jlruthven84's response - And was decapitated, AND abducted by aliens...and still won.
JK, you're right, I checked on it. THAT'S a fighter.
| Quote:
atj-lucko - Thats because Franklin has a warrior spirit he's a true fighter.
Kalib needs to find a new profession he's just not a cut out to be a fighter.
| Quote: |
jcmichaels - I think we all knew Starnes was a puss, when he quit during his fight against Kendall Grove on the TUF show. He had one more round to go and he couldn't suck it up? Give me a break. Take up spelunking or something Kalib because you can't hack it.
| (he said he was a puss) Quote: |
Sandywh - Wouldn't suprise me one bit if his own mother called him a pussy.
| Quote: |
dudefella - Oh he had a broken foot! boo-fucking-hoo. I played two hockey games on a broken foot in a tournament back when I was 16. Starnes is a pussy, and I'm embarrassed that he was born in my country.
| (another infamous "p" word) Quote: |
Acebpg - Hes a coward i would rather get knocked out 5x then run away like that. hes a swimmer that doesnt want to get wet.... im glad he got cut
| This goes on and on and on and still does. So it's okay in this situation and when I say he pussed out I'm ripped in to?

You know what the scariest thing was when I got out? Riding in a car for the first time. It was like being on a rollercoaster ride. lol
This is what is on TDCJ's website for offender searches... Offender Information | Why were you in prison, Sakara?

@Rambo my charge was 2nd degree aggravated assault with serious bodily injury in the absence of a weapon. Being a 2nd degree felony I was facing 2-20 and received 5. I had a really bad attorney who come to find out was related to the judge through marriage (small town). I did day for day meaning my full term. I was locked up 12/4/01 and was released 12/4/06.

Damn Sakara=Excitement, that sucks, couldn't you appeal or get a retrial because of the judge/attorney relation?
Anyways, maybe Bowles shouldn't of had quit and maybe he shoulda, only he could decide that since he was the one actually in the ring, for everyone else its always going to be debatable since everyone has their own opinions, but he will heal and comeback, like all fighters do. I've come to realize these suspensions dont really mean too much to fighters anways, Bendy Casimir was suspended for 60 days but was already back in the gym today training as usual, smile on his face and all.

You can call Brian Bowles soft and you can have any opinion you want. But when you are just a fan of the sport sitting at your computer ripping on a guy who actually does the sport, and at the highest level, when you have no idea of the extent of the damage, then you are going to sound dumb.
And what makes you the expert to call his injury relatively common? Are you a hand specialist? And by that i mean an actual doctor, not a master debater. | Seriously? A Masterbater joke? Are you 12?
I never said I was an expert. But look at how many fighters have hand injuries in a fight. Hmmm, in the event of Saturday there were two fighters with hand injuries and in main event of 2 of 2. In this sample, albeit small, hand injuries seem pretty common and I don't need to be a hand specialist to draw that conclusion.
I don't take anything away from Brian Bowles as far as his skill is concerned. I'm making the point that some athletes deal with injuries much better than others. I'm not going to call Joe Theismann soft for not playing after LT snapped him like a twig. I am going to call Alfonso Soriano soft for not playing when his legs don't fell 100% percent. I am not going to call Tim Tebow soft for playing on a broken leg in HS. And I am going to call Rich Franklin tough for fighting time and time again with a broken hand. But right now all signs point to Bowles being soft.

And you're right, the GUYS I were fighting against didn't have the skill set, no where near, what Dominick Cruz possesses. But I would take an ass whooping by him any day then to go through what I did on that rec yard that day. You can say it's classless but in my opinion he could've kept fighting if he wanted to. Name one fight that has been stopped due to a hand injury? I can't think of any. So if I'm missing some, then please let me know. | well then why did you get into the fight your not black and your not mexcian so i dont know why you did any thing ( and don't give me no it prison and you have to fight rember your race was not part of the race war ) it not hard to walk to the side of the yard there not fighting on .
your whole no tooth picks in prison is so fucking lame i want to puke i got stabbed but hey no tooth picks.
and even if all what your says is right . your were not in a fight like brian was
any one would keep fighting if it was a fight for your LIFE and not the WEC title .
