Hell, my wife even laughed when Hardy pulled up to Serra's gym. My wife said, "Didn't GSP destroy his goofy little ass last time they fought?"
I like Serra. But a secret weapon he is not.

The only thing that Matt Serra can show Hardy is that the "One in a million" chance of some middle of the card jabroni can beat GSP has already happened, because Serra is living proof of it. Afterwards, he was made a prisonyard example in their rematch.
Hardy's a goner.

Out of all trainers Hardy could get from the states, why go with Serra? Sure the guy does have a win over GSP but that was from just connecting with a flush shot (not lucky), not from neccasairily a strategy that trumped Georges'. I would think he would go to maybe a wrestler who could offer insight on take down defense and scrambling, as Georges has proved time and time again that he devours people from their guard and that is not a place to be in the fight. There are also plenty of better striking coaches than Longo that Dan could utilize as well. A few weeks away and I'm not feeling his game plan at this point. The Brit thinks he is going to go in there and magically connect with a killer punch and not get taken down and pulverized, when a Alves, who is a much superior striker and fighter in general tried to implement the same strategy failed. Rubbing Matt's bald head for luck only goes so far.

Consider Serra the equivalent to a faith healer and Hardy a terminally ill patient. At some point, people in a fatal situation tend to seek out outrageous avenues in search for help. This is going to be a massacre.

....it may not help him,but the relationship that Serra has with Renzo is more interesting to me. I'm sure he went to Serra's mainly for the BJJ and the Renzo connection with GSP......I don't think Serra's gonna be able to give him any secret's to beat GSP. He has evolved so much since Serra beat him.

Re-watch his first Penn fight or the John Fitch fight. He was tagged quite a few times.
I don't get all the Hardy hate; who else is GSP supposed to fight? Daley, sure okay, but he could use another big name fight or two to maximize his stock in the UFC's eyes.
I give Hardy as big of a chance as anyone GSP has fought over the past two years minus Fitch.

Jon Fitch has a soft chin because Gouveia knocked him out a few years ago. The reason GSP could not knock him out is because he hits like a girl.
