Is Matt Serra the Key to Dan Hardy's Success? -- MMA Fighting

There are no shortage of interesting storylines surrounding the Georges St-Pierre vs. Dan Hardy UFC 111 fight, but one more has just surfaced, and this could be the most intriguing one of them all.

Check out the beginning of Hardy's latest video blog above, where it states that Hardy, who has already set up the final portion of his training camp in New Jersey, recently met with Matt Serra to talk shop and has been training at Ray Longo's gym on Long Island.

So this begs the question: will Matt Serra be the key to Hardy pulling off the upset later this month?

Serra is the last fighter to beat GSP, but we all know that 170-pound champion has dramatically improved his game since Serra defeated him in April 2007 and GSP won the rematch in 2008. Nevertheless, if Hardy spends some time with Serra during these final few days before the title bout, I'm sure that will only increase his confidence going into the fight.

It's also interesting to note that GSP has been training with Renzo Gracie in New York City for this fight, who is Serra's mentor and good friend.

We don't see ever catch a glimpse of Serra in the Hardy video blog, and there is no word on whether Serra will appear on UFC Primetime, which premieres Wednesday night on Spike TV, so this could be just another subtle Hardy mind game. But if "The Terror" and "The Outlaw" are in fact teaming up, the road to UFC 111 has just gotten a lot more interesting.

...I was shocked when I saw Hardy drive up to Serra's gym at the end of the UFC primtime. I'm sure he talked with Renzo and got the ok.......but hey Matt is not gonna turn down money for training.

Why would Hardy want Matt Serra's tutelage? Did he not see what GSP did to Matt in the rematch when fully prepared? Blood bath!

Hardy called out all the GSP "nut huggers" on the Primetime special. It made me laugh. Then realized Hardy was going to die. And that too made me laugh.

this over hyping of hardy is retarded. their only doing it because hes a brit and they want to expand and generate a ton of interest over seas. only thing is this plan will fail when he gets killed because hes nowhere near ready they sould have waited for semtex hed have a better shot

Why would I want you to leave this board? We need more mma fans in my honest opinion. This is a good board too. And you're a great poster. It would be silly for you to leave.

.....their not doing this just for Hardy their doing it for the most part because it's GSP. The last time they did a UFC primtime was St. Pierre-Penn 2.

.....I may not think Hardy deserves the shot over some other WW fighter's,but his skillset is way more well rounded than Daley at this point their careers. GSP is gonna murder Daley too so it doesn't even matter.

....so Hardy is only getting 16 k for this fight ?....what's your source,that seems kinda low to me.
