i would like to throw in working on your quickness, simply being quicker than your opponent gives you a huge advantage

Yeah but dexterty and quickness are sometimes natural only ...BJ Penn. That is one of my main traits and it is hard for some guys who think they are very strong to deal with my natural quickness and throws.
But it can be improved upon, I would work on your strengths most of the time, perfect them and then even out your weaknesses.

I train in BJJ/MMA and fight submission wrestling and jiu-jitsu. It's improtant weeks before matches (or anytime really) to sit down and go over all your basic techniques, escapes, high % submissions and make sure you have the finer points of the moves down. Nothing sucks like getting someone in a hold and forgetting a simple tip to keep it locked. Rep it on your own, on a dummy and in sparring. And when going into the match be calm and relaxed, it's fun and it isn't life or death. Remove that fear of winning or losing and you will fight better.

i disagree, to a certian extent anyway, while i think its important to remain calm, relaxed and in control, i think its just as important to fight with the intention to win, fight like your life depended on it, i'm not saying be all panicy and out of control, just using your adrenaline and natural life preserving insticts to your advantage

Once I could run 5 then 6 and 7 came easy. I think I could run 28 miles no problem at that point. But it is all about breathing and NO HEAD PHONES! |
Why no headphones?

Oh course if you are in great cardio and know how to breathe without listening then you can wear them, but I never run with headphones. FOCUS FOCUS!!!
