| My Favorite Clinic
I'm going to apologize in advance, i've been up all night it's currently 5:30 am and i'm really bored so I thought i'd just make a thread.
We're pretty serious mma fans and we pride ourselves on studying these fights and knowing all the subtle nuances of a fighters' game. But deep down each fan is unique. Deep down I think all of us have a stylistic fanboy inside. with that being said, what's you're favorite Clinic?
By this I mean what kind of style do you prefer to watch dominating the octagon?
Do you like a reved up BJ carefully picking apart his prey with calculated punches?
or moreso a brawler pummel his opponents face with 3 rounds of sloppy striking a la bonner vs griffin
Were you fascinated by your first glimpse of Royce Gracie's dominance on the ground and continue to see BJJ evolve through the generations with the Gracies, the Nogs and the youngsters like Sotiropoulos?
Are you the all American who gets excited by the takedowns and slams of wrestlings finest?
A fight that cycles through everything mentioned is always a war worth watching again and probably every true mma fan's favorite. As the sport continues to grow and more young athletes go into mma with a clean slate, we'll see the trend of stylistic dominant fights begin to melt away, but until then, what do you prefer? what do you enjoy watching the most?
When it comes down to it, I like a wrestling/GnP fight the best. if I were to choose. Tito probably opened my eyes to mma in the first place (how things have changed) and i watched as Matt Hughes really ran with it, and how a french canadian innovated it, and how an Edward Norton style hulk shook up the heavyweight division.
I'm realy tired and don't know how to end this thread.....how about a late st. patrick's day joke.
How come a lepracaun (its spelled wrong leave me alone) is always laughing?
Cause the grass is always tickling his balls.
corney i know but my 9 year old girl cousin told me that so i had to share it.
Forgot to mention. fill in the gaps with things i was too lazy to put down like the poster below stated Muay Thai...or Judo whathaveyou

....I would say just an all around good grappling/BJJ match....and second to that would be BJ putting on a boxing clinic...like he usually does.

I love the BJJ game and respect what they're doing. It's amazing as I'm studying it right now and they are soooo good at it. But I think I prefer the wars! Urijjah Faber style always pushing the action. Jose Aldo going forward all the time. I would throw in Anderson, but he's not really always looking for the finish. Rampage normally is looking for the kill. I like to watch a fighter who's gonna give it all they have to finish the fight. (oddly enough, my favorite fighter is GSP and I feel he's taken more of the grind out a win approach). You cant really go wrong with seeing 2 submission experts go at it though. A fight with a well conditioned BJ Penn in it is always going to be exciting!

I love the group/submission game. I actually prefer Catch wrestling and Sambo over BJJ, even though they're less prevelant in the average MMA arsenal.

I have to go with the old GSP. That used to put on a stand up clinic and use the wrestling in reverse. I think the best example is the 2nd Hughes fight where he stuffs the takedowns and frustrates Hughes with leg kicks then sets him up for the high kick which led to the finish !!!
Quality to watch !!!

I really enjoy seeing a Thai clinch at work. Wandy vs. Rampage,Anderson vs.Franklin, and Saunders vs. Wolff and Davis all come to mind how devastating a clinch can be if your not prepared.

Muay Thai for sure - most brutal fight sport in the world. Dominates pretty much any other stand up style and it's truly a beautiful feeling to throw a combo incorporating elbows and punches followed up with a big "fuck off and don't come back" knee or leg kick.
My least favourite is wrestling:
a. because I've never trained it and therefore can't really appreciate its nuances; and
b. once a good wrestler gets a hold of a striker my fav part of the fight is largely nullified.
That being said I'm going to start training wrestling next year so I expect that answer will change in 12-18.

I'd have to say Muai Thai, especially Anderson Silva at his best. I like all aspects of the game, but there is nothing like it when a guy can throw hard kicks from the outside, lands good combos with his hands, and is devastating with knees from the clinch.
