Who do you want to see him fight next and why?
I am going to say Thiago Silva makes the most sense. It is the next logical step from Vera. This guy is 22, no need to rush things.
I would like to see him fight Anderson, I think he might be the answer there.

Who di I Want him to fight? Randy Couture. I want to see if his high intensity clinch and takedowns could work on somebody as big and well versed in that aspect of the game as Couture. And if his wrestling could work against him. just a novelty fight.
Who do I think he will fight next? probably Thiago Silva.

I personally felt Vera was a really big step up from the likes of Bonnar and Hamil and he utterly tore through him to my surprise. Jones is clearly on the rise and I really hope they don't fasttrack him to the top of the division, because I really want to see this guy get the proper hype and promotion he deserves as "the next big thing".
Sure, Bader's reeeeeally good, but Jones just might be great and it needs to be nursed along properly so he can become a superstar and not flare out too soon against too big of a challenge, for he's a little sloppy and still needs quite a bit of refinement prior to getting in there with a Lil Nog or Shogun at this moment, but his athleticism and slams are uncanny and he's certainly got the chops.
Jones' obviously elevated himself to a co-main spot right now and I think Thiago Silva, whose earmarked a summer return would be a tremendous step in the right direction. Not only is he a ferocious striker, but he'll really be Jones' first REAL test against a fighter with a groundgame that can potential exploit some of Jones' sloppiness on the ground. The Thiago we saw against Rashad was pretty damn banged up and I'd love to see what a healthy Silva can do against Bones.
If they wanted to take this push to the top even slower, I think Luiz Cane is a proper challenge as well, because he's got the potential to be a real demon, but isn't on that elite level which could possibly damage Jones.
Considering Franklin/Couture/Tito/Chuck, Forrest/Lil Nog, Rashad/Rampage and Shogun/Machida, there aren't too too many possible matchups unless they want to hold off on Jones' return until the early fall, which I think is a waste.
Thiago Silva's my call.
Buuuut, another name that keeps coming to mind is Anderson Silva and the idea that IF he tears through Maia with ease, maybe he'll want to travel back up to 205 again and that may be a superfight which could elevate Jones no matter what the outcome and wouldn't really harm his rep considering the aura of Anderson. I'm not saying I like this matchup, but considering Anderson won't fight Lil Nog or Machida, I wouldn't count this fight out per se.

They need to build him up a little more. I would like to see him headline a couple more fight nights for the exposure. Thiago makes the most sense to me at this point.

As much of a good matchup as Thiago/Jones is, I'd like to see Jones in a fight where he is "Supposed to Lose". I honestly love Thiago Silva (No Homo) but is there anyone that doesn't see Jones walking right through him? Well I see him doing just that, so I personally would like to see him against the winner/loser of Lil Nog/Griffin. It's a fight that I'm sure everyone wants to see, will be a win whichever way you look at it (Jones beat TUF1 Winner & Former LHW Champ or Jones beats Brazilian Wrecking Machine and little brother to big Nog or Nog/Griffin beat seemingly unreal up & comer Jon Jones), and is a fight that I'm sure he will be the underdog in. That is my take on it and I want to see Jones pushed, so I voted Lil Nog.
P.S. And there is no way Dana makes a Jones/Spider fight anytime soon.

Ryan Bader. Similar record and place in their careers. However, the ufc shouldn't worry about saving Bader since he doesn't have as great of a chance at gonna be a title holder in the future. But rather use him to build Jones' name even more.

Jones would go through Bader the way he did Hamill.
I'd like to see Jones go against Couture or Forrest.

his next fight will most likely be against loser of Rashad/Rampage, it would be sick however to see him fight the winner. I think Thiago Silva would be a great test as well but I think Silva is going to fight Vera as both are coming off loses.
