I seriously think he could make mw, jones was just so much bigger then him. i think hes about the same size as anderson, i like vera and hes got mad skills just cant seem to put them together, where does he go from here if he stays at lhw who does he fight??

There is no way IMO that Vera could make MW. If he did he would exhausted. I do not think there is any shame in loosing to Jones. That elbow Vera got hit with was vicious. Jones is a serious contender for the LHW belt. I really dont know what to think about Vera. He seems to have all the tools but never puts it together. He beat almost all the b level fighters(except for Jardine) but isnt able to beat the contenders. Maybe he will be taking Jardines spot as gatekeeper.

There is nooooooo way he can make it to MW. You think Irvin was bad? just imagine Vera down there. I think he's just gonna go right back to fighting B level competition. He reminds me of Gonazaga for LHW. The man can beat mid tier fighters, but can't get anything going for him against top competition.

Vera is has very good greco skills, and for Jones to throw him around like that is really telling of just how good Jones is. Again, I think it was just a weird way to win with an elbow to the eye socket, but it is hard to deny that Jones has the most raw talent at LHW in the UFC.

Franklin v Vera for the 195lb title. lol.
really he can't make MW. so he is staying LHW and not going to HW I hope. HW would be a big mistake for him. There are a lot of good matchups still for him @ LHW. Vera v Irvin would be an obvious one.

I agree with the above, no way Vera can make 185 and still be himself.
My vote went to Ryan Bader, that could be a good matchup for Vera at 205. Good wrassler vs good grapple/thai of Vera, their styles could make for an interesting fight.

Going to MW i think would be way too harsh on his body. Let's not be too hard on Vera, that was one hell of an elbow he took in that fight. if he is to be successful in the ufc, it's has to be at lhw. too big for mw, too small for hw. Do I see Vera winning the lhw title? no. But I think he can put up some decent fights in the division. The rematch with JArdine sounds interesting

Vera's fine at LHW, maybe he still needs to let his hands fly a little bit looser, but last night was a case of Jon Jones being really really good. He'll be back and I think he'll be back in pretty solid form, however I think Jones just took it to another level.

sure he can cut to 185 but he has to do it the right way and with a lot of time. can't rush to it and be dead once its fight time or risk your health. i would like to see him at MW, would be a nice addition to the division for sure. I don't see him being able to hang with the HWs now a days either.
