yea Vera looked in terrible pain, as soon as he kinda rolled up into a ball i knew it was curtains,kudos to Johnny bones.

Serious shot Vera took which kinda sucks. Because we still haven't seen Bones really tested in a fight. I wanted the fight to go at least 2 rounds so we could see maybe Jones handle some strikes and what not. I have a feeling as fast as his rise is someone is gonna send him crashing back down pretty hard.

This is just another reason why elbows are ruining the sport. If its not an axe wound to the head, its blood in the eyes or its another broken orbital bone that stops the fight. To be honest, I am so sick of elbows ending fights early and I cant be the only one.

Wow, people really don't get it. It's mixed martial arts and it tries to incorporate as many real strikes as a real fight would have as long as they don't cause serious long lasting injury. A cracked orbital bone or nasty cut is nothing compared to a serious concussion or vertebrae damage, but everyone still thinks knees from North/South should be implemented (me included) despite the fact that those knees are very likely to cause concussions or spinal compression because we want to know who's the legitimately tougher guy in a fight. I don't want to see people doing the Buentello nonsense of dropping down when getting kneed to cause the strikes to be illegal. And I don't want to see people mounted for 5 minutes flailing their arms wildly or turning their head away to stop any clean punches when they wouldn't last 10 seconds if the guy could just forearm smash right through his defense.

exactly my point though.......without elbows alot of fighters have nothing. GSP would never TKO\KO an opponent again without elbows

That sucks for Vera,I really like the guy, but theirs no way the UFC cuts him. They invested way to much time and money into him. As for Jones I think he is getting a false sense of security and someones going to knock him back down to earth very soon. I havent seen anything from Vera at 205 that has made me think he was a challenger. I think he should move back up to HW, hes done sooooo much better their. Even loosing to Sylvia he has looked better.
