Fitch always has a smarter, more boring gameplan(similar to gsp) than koscheck. But he is 12-1 in the UFC only losing to GSP so you can see how that gameplan works well. Koscheck has good standup and keeps improving, but he will stand with any1 and sometimes that is a bad thing depending on who he is fighting. However this is an unfavorable matchup for Fitch. Especially training together, i dont think fitch would be able to get koscheck down. Josh has the better standup with KO power and he would take the fight.

I dont know if any of you or the "fans" actually train. But i can understand why they wouldnt want to fight each other. You get so close with your teamates, always helping them out improve and training with them on a daily basis. You can get really get to know their style and vise versa so you know how to get them. I wouldnt never fight a teamate, but they would have to agree to it. I know that people will say that its all in competition and i agree with that to a small extent. but you cannot compare it to any other sport. When i fight i want to knock out the other person in devastating fashion. Yes it is a sport, but it is a FIGHT.

Paulo Thiago's fist disagrees that Kos deserved the shot more than Hardy. Fitch is obviously the most deserving. It doesn't matter if he doesn't finish fights or not. He wins. Are you going to strip GSP of the title for not finishing opponents? Idiotic statements. BLAH BLAH BLAH he doesn't finish people. Fitch needs a new camp so he can ground Kos into pieces with a clear conscience.

Fitch is obviously the most deserving with 4 wins after his titles shot. Koscheck the douche is 5-2 since his title shot and has only shown slight striking improvement. If Shields could control Daley... what can GSP do? Swick is out of the picture atm. Alves won't be fighting for a long while and hasn't fought since getting brutalized by GSP.

But yeah.... my point is the welterweight division is a mess and is no longer stacked as it used to be. Would be great if GSP were to move up to middleweight but.... I don't see him doing that for a while. Considering he will probably only fight twice in 2010, yet again.

GSP has said that he doesnt plan on moving up in weight(anytime soon atleast) so chance are he will probably fight them both again. I think Kos has a better shot against gsp than fitch. They are both good wrestlers but if Kos can really focus on defending GSP's great takedowns then he could beat GSP. He is already a high level wrestler and if he puts the time in like GSP does he could make it happen. GSP striking is highly overrated, Kos hits harder and faster than serra does. I will never get over GSP tapping to serra. WTF is up with that, there are so many lesser fighters that would have never consitered tapping. When is the last time we've seen that in the UFC? Fitch even if he would be able to defend the gsp takedowns has inferior striking and is like a poor mans GSP.

So if Fitch or Kos or Seick for that matter ever get the WW title, the others will just sit there and wait for their teammate to lose it?

When did i say that? John always has a smarter gameplan. Kos has a better chance of beating GSP. If Kos can stop GSP's takedowns, its not like hardy training to stop GSP's takedowns, Kos is already a very skilled wrestler. What do u think would happen in that fight? GSP would have to trade with Kos and it could be lights out.

Here's what I don't get. These guys are professional fighters. Pros. This is their job. Their full time, real deal job. Why do they even get the option of turning down fights that are relevant to the standings? When is the last time you were able to tell your boss 'no' you didn't want to do something. Look, this whole 'teammate' thing is lame. You're a pro fighter, you've got to know that something like this might happen if you and your buddy both make it to the top.

I am interested to see when friends have fought friends in the past. And for the sake of it being easier to answer, let's say friends and not specifically teammates, even though yes I understand it's a big difference. One that comes to mind immediately is Dan Henderson vs Rampage, I know they were friends when they fought, but still slug it out. Any others that you guys can name?

They are both wrestlers and have both proven to be equally ineffective against GSP. Only difference was one lasted 5 rounds and one lasted 3. I think GSP would beat either of them, but I do believe Fitch to be the better of the 2. MMA math doesn't apply. The better fighter that night will win and GSP would beat either of them. He simply outclasses them. Any fighter can lose. Any punch that could have grazed might hit flush. It's a fight, and statistics don't apply until the fight is over. But I think GSP has a stranglehold on the division and should be leaving it soon enough.

They both went to decision. Yes i do see the fights going the same way as the first bouts. Nobody at 170 can hang with GSP. WTF are you talking about mma math? when was that ever mentioned. The are both good wrestlers but gsp is better standing and on the ground than fitch. Kos has a standup advantage on GSP and hits a lot harder, is that hard to understand? is that math? I think they both get taken down again if the fight happens, but it is different than Hardy training to avoid gsp's takedowns, imo he will never be able to get that good (it would take years to even get close to being able to avoid gsp's takedowns, by that time gsp is even better.) Kos and Fitch are great wrestlers and if anybody can stop GSP's takedowns its them. I dont think that fitch would be able to beat him even if he could.
