A fourth bout between UFC Hall of Famers Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture is currently being planned for UFC 116 on July 3.

A source close to the promotion informed Heavy.com of the news on Tuesday afternoon.

The bout would serve as the co-main event of the blockbuster card that is expected to be headlined by a UFC heavyweight title bout between Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin.

Liddell owns a 2-1 record in the series with Couture. The pair first faced off UFC 43 in 2003, where Couture stopped Liddell via TKO to capture the UFC light heavyweight title. Liddell would return the favor at UFC 52, knocking Couture out and winning his first light heavyweight title. Liddell also won the rubber match at UFC 57.

I just read this myself. Why? WHY WHY WHY? The Tito fight was already a joke, but this? Randy has a very good chance of winning this, and then what? Liddell/Couture V to break the tie? The rumored Franklin fight makes way more sense than this...at least Liddell has never fought him before.

please not again, i like both of these legends but really? this fight has no relevency at all. Much rather see chuck vs jardine 2 or throw chuck in there with a young up and comer. kimbo vs chuck would get ppv buys. [if kimbo dosent welcome james toney to the ufc] anything but this rerun.
