| Alessio Sakara calls out Bisping, wants to do for Italy what Bisping did for England Alessio Sakara Wants Michael Bisping - Bloody Elbow Quote: Quote: |
"After the third victory in a row I want a little more and I think that a fight with Michael Bisping would be great. I respect him and it would be a war. I think mixed martial arts are so big in England today because of him, and I definitely want to do the same thing in Italy."
| - Alessio Sakara talks to James Kimball of MMA Mania about the next step in his career.
This is honestly the first time a Sakara/Bisping fight has crossed my mind, but you put that on a European show and there's a built in storyline to it, in addition to the fact that it should be quite a fun fight to watch. For all the hate Bisping gets it isn't as though he has many boring fights, and Sakara certainly isn't one to put on a snoozer.
Mark me down as totally in favor of this fight.
Sakara also had some interesting things to say about the weight cut for his last fight and seems to want people to not discredit his role in making James Irvin look so bad as a weight cut is hard on everyone.

I like this fight. And I would definitely like to see Alessio get some better competition and more exposure. I think he could definitely win this fight if it stays on the feet, which it most likely will stay.

I don't think he will ever be as big of a symbol as Bisping is to the UK, but it diffenitly should be a great fight. For a European show it should draw well and hopefully see one more Bisping beating. He also seems to handle himself well in the public eye.

While I think that this fight is a pretty great matchup and poses a really exciting bout, however I think Sakara offers too much of a standup threat to Bisping's style and I don't think it's in Bisping's or ZUFFA's best interest to have their biggest UK star going 3 losses out of his last 4 due to throwing him in there against a guy with great power and striking technique. My bet is Bisping gets Dan Miller while Sakara faces Sonnen, Palhares or Okami and IMO, those bouts are much much more challenging.

I agree they won't feed Bisping to the wolf's yet as he has a few more golden eggs left in him for the UK. I still like to dream about him getting his but handed to him

He's a solid gatekeeper right now, but he would be a pretty big underdog against Bisping. The stand up is pretty even, I would even give the edge to Bisping because of how many times Sakara has been KO'd by unranked MW's, and Bisping has a much better ground game imo. I would definitely like to see this fight though, would be pretty exciting.

I agree Sakara really isn't a wolf, but he's not a big big name were a lose would hurt Bisping's Rep worse than the Hendo KO job. They'll probely try again handing him a big name that is on the declining end of his carreer like they thought Wandy was. Plus with a lose to a big name like Wandy it didn't hurt him that bad since he went the distance.

I like Sakara and while I think he has vastly improved, Bisping is not a complete idiot and will probably treat this fight similar to the Kang fight and shoot and look for a TKO by gnp. I agree though I think it would really be a war
