I really wanted to see Anderson v Vitor too - a lot of people didn't think Vitor deserved a title shot, but who cares - all anderson did to earn his shot was beat Leben (although it was a beatdown) & Brock didn't exactly earn his either... Silva v Belfort would've been awesome!

I think he's going to smash Maia honestly, first round KO.

Maia is great but Anderson's style is soo dangerous for so many other styles....

He shouldn't have to fight rematches against people who earned them, because they're boring. He shouldn't have to fight Belfort, because dana made Vitor fight Franklin at a catchweight. He shouldn't have to fight Sonnen, because Chael runs his mouth too much. He shouldn't have to fight Maia, because Demian got caught by Nate. He should fight at LHW, [because he's bigger than most LHW's anyway] but he shouldn't have to fight Machida, because they're total bros, yo.

He's so good, in fact, that I think in the Undisputed video game, you should just win for picking his character. Every time.

Anderson is an immensely talented fighter, but I really get tired of the pointless "he's above this or that fight" nonsense. If he's going to be a MW and go for the totally-awesome-title-defense-record-breaking fight...just let him fight it.

I swear, if a fighter isn't a mook that stirs shit up with inflammatory soundbytes, some hack from bloody elbow or a similar shit page will try to create drama for them.

This is funny yet brilliant stuff. I could add some more, but why bother. you nailed it.

I'm annoyed with Silva to such a high degree now. Is he a great fighter, yes he is. Is he the best P4P fighter in the world, no he is not. I do not see how anyone can even put him above Fedor, GSP or Penn.

Silva should beat Maia, but I think everyone is forgetting that Maia is way out of Silva's world when it comes to the ground. IF this fight hits the ground, there is a really really good chance Maia taps Silva. If Chonan(sp??) can tap Silva, then you better believe Maia can do it.

I am really pulling for Maia to sub Silva and sub him in the first. Then we can all see Soares face drop.

Yeah Yeah I know Maia is a beast on the ground, but it's not like Anderson has the ground game of Cheick Kongo or anything.
I believe Maia will go out the same way he did against Marquardt.

x2 on this..I like Maia but this is not a good fight in his favor.

As long as Demian doesn't just flop on his back trying to get it to the ground it will be a great fight to watch period! I would rather watch Anderson fight anyone then hear Soares talk why he shouldn't fight so and so.

you can bash maia as a challenger all you want. maybe he deserves the shot, maybe not, but he was the best available at the time, and more importantly, what he brings to the table is a legitimate threat to anderson in a specific part of the game. you can argue that it's unlikely that he'll be able to get to a position in which he can capitalize on that advantage, but that advantage is still there. henderson and sonnen both bring a specific advantage to the fight as well, and as long as there are challengers who pose some sort of challenge, then it's a good fight by me. if anderson can continue to smartly outfight his challengers, then great. power to him. but defending against potential threats is part of the game.

who knows, maybe he'll deliberately go to the ground and get tapped by maia just to shake some of his fans off his nuts, kinda like what dylan did with 'self-portrait.' no? nobody? nevermind.

Deliberately going into a fighters strength would not be the smartest move, and would give Soares a heart attack too. A few fighters have tried this and most are gone. Goerge Grugel [ spelling Franklins teammate] comes to mind great ground game and tried to stay on his feet and strike we see were he is now.
