the only thing that annoys me about maia getting the shot is that he was ruled to be out longer then sonnen by the doctors but they made him fight anyway because abu dhabi doesnt follow the medical rules or something but everyone talks about punchers chance so ill give maia the submissioners chance lol i mean ryo chonan did it but i highly doubt it will happen again

I have no idea how people can say Maia has no chance. His stand up improved, not to Andersons level, but it improved enough to atleast last long enough to go for a takedown. I don't see how Sonnen would have a better chance then Maia, Maia is way above Sonnen on the ground. If this fight hits the mat Maia has way above a "punchers" chance, Silav is no Kongo on the ground but he is def. no Maia on the ground either. Anderson won't sub Maia, like he did to Hendo and could very well do to Sonnen. Maia has to take this fight into his world and when/if he does, Anderson very well could experience his first loss in the UFC. Maia can beat anyone in the UFC when the fight hits the floor, just ask GG, he is no walk through and he is def. a top contender.

Maia has the BJJ equivalent of a "punchers chance." Silva CAN be submitted. That being said, I think Silva scores TKO victory in the 1st round.

I used to think Maia would be the first person to beat Anderson in the UFC, but then I saw him get knocked out by Nate very very early. Anderson's standup is better than Nate's, so no I do not think he stands any chance at all.

I would love to see Maia make Silva tap. Or win in general. I've wanted Silva to lose his belt for well over a year now.

Imo Anderson's ground game is highly underestimated due to his superb standup.

imo mia is the only person at MW or even LHW who stand any chance of winning. If he can even pull guard the fight could b over.

Imo Anderson's ground game is highly underestimated due to his superb standup. | It isn't that Anderson can't catch Maia in a submission, it is more like saying Maia will knockout Anderson, it could happen but the chances are so smalll it isn't even worth debating.
There is more of a chance than Maia will knockout Anderson than Anderson pulling off a submission on Maia.

Imo Anderson's ground game is highly underestimated due to his superb standup. | RD, I did not say Anderson was sloppy on the ground or that he had a bad ground game. Anderson is good on the ground I get it but....
Maia is GREAT on the ground. Why would Anderson even toy with the ground?
on the other side Maia is dumb if he stands with Anderson.
And if you reread the first post I said IMO Anderson will KO maia just like Nate did...one big punch.
