Awhile back i would of said Fitch by boring wrestlefest but dunno after watching the Mike Pierce fight i think the punishment GSP handing out on Fitch may have effected is ability to take a punch cos he got rattled a couple of times in that fight. Or maybe i'm not giving Mike Pierce his prop's. Alves's take-down defense has improved significantly since their first fight as we saw in the Koscheck fight. I think after a couple of take-downs and some scrambling Alves will catch Fitch with something and finish him off with punches, maybe a second round tko.

I agree.
I like both Fitch & GSP, but goddamn their last fights were Boring.
It was like watching a larger Gray Maynard.

I really want to see this fight. I think Alves improved striking and takedown ability help him win this fight. IMO Fitch hasnt been that impressive his last couple fights. Hasnt done much damage and except for his last fight he has taken quite a bit. I dont think the winner of this fight deserves a title shot though. I think Kos is the only guy in the WW division who has the skills to give GSP a challenge.

i dont want to see any of the four(kos, daley, fitch, alves) fight gsp because it won't be anything we haven't seen before. the only two people im interested in seeing fight st. pierre is paulo thiago because of his ability to play the mental game and switch styles as well as bj penn because i want to see how far bj has really come since their last fight.

If Alves beats Fitch and Kos beats Daley then I could see Kos/Alves while we wait for the winner of Fitch/GSP. | why would alves get gsp?? With how the UFC is workin I think the new face would probably get the shot first.. someone who hasnt already been beaten by Rush. They would also play the same thing about him being the superior striker blah blah blah and Daley would hype the fight with all that trash talk and it would probably sell. But if Alves wins he would be next more then likely.

also in regards of praising both fitch and gsp and comparing their fights at the last show is somewhat ridiculous. When did Fitch ever attempt a submission? Never. He laid and prayed he improved his position every once in awhile and i thought there should have been plenty of stand ups in that one. GSP repeatedly passed guard, side control, full mount, back. Any lesser opponent would've tapped to both of those submissions GSP locked up. At least Rush was looking for some sort of offense in his game.

GSP's fight may have not been overly impressive but he used his wrestling base to attempt offensive moves and tried to finish the fight. Fitch like he has done in alot of his recent fights didnt mount any offensive, not even much g'n'p, i think i remember afew elbows at the end of the third. But considering the amount of dominant positions he had over the fight he landed nothing clean and didnt attempt any submissions.
I said in a previous post that i used to be a fitch fan but i really struggle to watch him fight lately, you almost know going into a fitch fight its going to a 3 round decision victory, that would be fine if he didnt just lay n pray mounting no offense for the three rounds. Its annoying how he is constantly apologizing to Dana and the fans for not finishing his opponent but he never attempts to! And Rogan and Goldie justify it by saying he's grinding his opponent, sounds like you've walked onto the set of a swedish porno instead of a fight.

Saunders couldn't reclaim guard, so Fitch already in a domininte position staid there.
Ben's ground game was not as good as Hardy's, simple as that.

If you watched one GSP fight, then you have seen them all. Over time GSP has learned his standup aint so good, the first BJ fight and the first Serra fight proved that. GSP is forced to take it to the ground because thats all he has, besides his predictable superman punch

I don't know if I'm supposed to explain to you how that's incorrect, or if I'm not supposed to because that would be feeding the troll.
