Can anyone give me some tips or pointer on how to throw muay thai kicks more effictive, thanks

stay on the front ball of your kicking foot. push off and keep leg straight coming across swinging THROUGH your target. if you miss target(person) you will basically spin around or jump over a foot or two...whatever you feel comfortable with. the reason you spin around or move over a foot or two: there is no half way to this kick. ALL or nothing. you don't snap this kick out....it takes all you legs and mostly hips totation.. I'm no veteran but i take MUAY thai. practice OVER AND OVER till your leg falls off.

Wow that seems like Deja Vu I believe this is the Experience of ever Muay Thai Fighter with a TKD fighter some time in their life. Mine was with a Friend I hadn't seen for years and he wanted to go at it. I wasn't use to fighting TKD dudes at the time and just stuck to my guns and then he was able to Land one of his kicks I though ...Thats it??? It seemed like he put alot of effort into it so I though it would be effective but nonetheless it wasn't. Anyway Long story shore I won Very easily and it made Matt feel bad wich kinda bumed me out Because he put alot of years and devotion to his art.

TKD puts too much focus into kicks that arent used for maximum power.
most TKD guys have good accuracy
but unless your retarded, youll move away from the kicks that will break your nose, knock you out, or hit you in the solar plexus or testicles.

plus 2 legs and shitty hand technique

i agree that as a solo form, tkd sucks, i took some classes once and quickly realized i could woop the snot out of any of the instructors, i think the biggest problem is the capitolism involved in tkd schools, getting a black belt in two years is stupid, and does not make you a bad ass, the spinning kicks are ridiculous and all but one of there kicks is highly telegraphic, but when done properly pack a nasty punch, anyway, your story about that guy isnt suprizing, its not the first one i've heard regarding a tkd black belt, i got one for you, i grew up in a small town with a bunch of rowdy country boys that like to fight all the time, but as in all small towns there is always "the badass" when i was in highschool this one guy was the most feared guy in town, not only did he fight all the time but he never lost and always hurt his opponent, anyway, he got into underground cage fights and moved away, then this korean guy moved to town and opened up a tkd dojo after a few years people started talking about him being the new badass, so this street fighter dude comes back to town for a visit and hears about this guy, and of coarse he wants to fight this new "socalled badass" he goes down to his dojo and challenges him, of coarse the tkd guy declines with the whole honor thing but the street fighter persist until finally a match is set up, it took place at the dojo with a few people on hand as wittness, the tkd guy started stretching and practicing all his fancy kicks to get warmed up while the street fight just stood there cracking his knuckles, the fight begins, the tkd guy steps in throws a high kick to the head, the street fighter steps underneath it, grabs him, throws him to the ground and beats the crap out of him, fight over.

moral of the story, all the fancy training in the world is no substitute for practicality
