If Silva was angry at Maia being disrespectful imagine how pissed he's going to be with Sonnen if they ever meet, and this is just the start, Sonnen could really get under Silva's skin in the future if he hasn't already!
Very interesting match although i think Silva will fight LHW for his next fight.

I totally agree with Sonnen in saying that it was psychological warfare. I noticed whenever Maia stepped forward while Silva taunted, Silva would throw a very fast right hand to try to catch Maia coming in. It is Silva's style, even if it is deplorable when it doesn't work.
Either Sonnen or GSP need to be Silva's next opponent imo. Silva has made himself into a heel, no matter how much positive PR he has tried to make in the past. Sonnen is the all-American tough guy who speaks his mind, GSP the ultra-humble ultra-skilled champ, either one would play as great crowd favorites against Silva.

I see now that Ed DOES in fact hand pick opponents for Anderson. Chael would have given him a lot harder time than maia did and I'm sure Ed knew that, which is why he made such a big stink about Chael not being deserving. Protect that gold son! | I will sig bet you that when and if this fight happens that Chael gets knocked out or subd in the 1st or 2nd round. Chael is no better than Dan Henderson and even worse has horrible standup in comparison.
Everyone seems to think they have to answer to beating Silva these days until they get hit.

Dan has delusions of being an elite striker and likes to exchange. That's what lead to his loss against Silva. Had he stuck to his gameplan of wrestling Anderson to the ground and keeping him there the fight may have turned out much differently.
Chael has great wrestling and used it to dominate Okami, so he could conceivably get Anderson down and keep him there to wins some rounds. As you pointed out though, Sonnen's submission defense leaves a lot to be desired and Silva could take advantage of that to end the fight early. No matter what happens though, Sonnen will engage and push the pace.

WTF are you talking about roaddawg, Chael is insane at his GnP, look at Marquardt and that's the multiple time KING OF PANCRASE!!! so he himself knows how to wrestle and grapple and he couldn't do a damn thing, and Chael no longer lays and prays he ground and pounds HARD and viciously. Dan won that first round and then tried to stand with Silva...why? No idea. But gotta love Dan for catching Bisping like that LOL. I saw some of his workout videos and I train with wrestlers and they are in AWE of his workhorse attitude. He doesn't look big and strong but he is VERY strong.

LMAO Anderson said that Maia was very disrespectful only because he basically said that he would submit him if the fight goes to the ground, Anderson got very offended at that and thats why he decided to punish Maia.
I cant imagine what Anderson is going to do with someone that called him a dirtbag.

Except he didn't punish him. If you're mad because someone said they're better at something than you why don't you prove them wrong and go grapple with them, not saying that it's the smartest thing to do but prove us and Maia wrong. He did it against Lutter so WTF lol
