What about Silva/Mir's game makes you think Silva would get "eaten" up? Im just curious.

Mir's already started shedding weight, according to an interview post Carwin. He wants to go back to be "slick" and not powerful, and is looking to be around a 250 cageside compromise between power and movement.

That being said, this is a horrible fight that has a high likelihood of getting booked. Mir is arguably a top 10 HW still [I don't believe it, but I think other people would] and a win would cement Anderson as #1p4p in a lot of people's mind. It matches up pretty well for Anderson. I don't think Mir is explosive or technical enough to score a takedown from beyond the clinch, and Anderson is deft enough to avoid a clinch where Mir would have any advantage. Even if it goes to the mat, I don't think Anderson is a elite on the ground, but I don't think Mir is either, so that might be interesting. I think it's likely to play out striking, and I don't think Mir can hit him, and even if he does, I don't think Frank has the power to put him down.

I think what it comes down to is if dana is willing to invest any more time and effort on the Anderson bandwagon, or if he's going to write it off as a lost cause and simply let him fight out his contract and walk away to bigger boxing paydays.

I'm betting Soares is doing some serious asskissing damage control right now.

I think I heard Anderson signed a new 6 fight deal before this last fight. Am I wrong?

WTF?!?!? Mir seems lost on what to do with himself. He hasn't even given his new-found size much of a chance . He turned Kongo's lights out in impressive fashion, and then loses to Carwin, and he's already going back down in weight??? I don't get it.

Mir should stick to the bigger size, and work on his clinch game. I'm sure he was well prepared to stand with Carwin, and well prepared to go to the ground. He obviously wasn't well prepared for in between.

Finally!!! Instead of challenging Silva, UFC Has been milking the cow! If I were Silva nearing the end of my prime, I would demand better compitition too. Silva's lips may be shut by contract, but his ass isn't... He'll shake that ass in protest!
Silva vs Mir is a decent matchup for Silva... Although I think Mir will get his butt kicked.

The real deal Silva vs: Fedor, Brock, GSP... This is how legacy is built... Give the man what he wants!

Anderson Silva would ko Mir by round 2. Anderson Silva is to precise and his stand up is off the charts. Mir lost to Vera by strikes and Silva has more lethal Muay Thai.

Fuck that. Punish Silva by letting Mir come in at his new Mega-Mir weight vs Silva at the lowest a HW can be......total domination by Mir; and Dana White makes his point to Silva. After all, if Anderson feels he's so over-skilled, let's see him try out a guy that weighs 265.

I see Mir having a better chance than people here are giving him but would still go with Silva winning this as long as he doesn't pull some shit like he just did against Maia...
