Although I'm back to a point where I'm not sleeping, so admittedly, I'm even goofier than I am under normal circumstances...which is considerable, I'll be the first to admit: On a scale of my conspiracy theories, I don't even know if this cracks my top 10.

Your post here is quite different from your first one: Quote: |
Which leads me to think the whole brawl was pre-arranged. If the stand-and-bang crowd was turned off by three long decision fights, give them a bang to know it's time to go home.
| That clearly implies that not only the drama but the brawl was set up. I'm glad you clarified, because I think there is no way in hell that the brawl itself was deliberately staged.
I think it's plausible that Mayhem was sent in there to generate drama (though Coker denies it, and I believe him, but an underling might have made the call himself), but there's no way Strikeforce execs thought it was preferable to have a full-blown street brawl on live national broadcast TV and quite possibly piss away your CBS contract just in order to "let the crowd know it's time to go home".

I do not. I've been a part of many amateur MMA events and you can't even get into those small event cages after the fight without permission. Imagine a CBS event. He didn't just walk into that cage, I guarantee it.
Whether Coker "himself" ordered it we'll never know, but i'm amazed when these guys refuse to accept responsibility. Either you have no control over who comes in and out of the cage, or you set this up to hype a future fight.
Either way, it's your fault as the guy running this event. There's no pointing fingers.
See people hate Dana White, but he took responsibility for Anderson Silva's antics in the cage, and that's much further removed than this is to Coker. No one even thought to blame Dana for Silva's dancing, but he came out and said HE'D make it up tp the fans.
NOOOO not Coker. This isn't his fault, he's only running the event.
I'm not saying he knew for sure... but he knew for sure. lol

That being said, yes he's the guy and in charge and unquestionably it's his responsibility - even if Mayhem did "find his way into the cage", it is Coker's responsibility.

I still find it sad, though.
rh | That actually makes perfect sense.
As did I.

rh | The cameraman and the announcer in the ring obviously did not know Mayhem was going to do that. Mayhem is also a huge goofball that does dumb shit like this on a fight to fight basis, I would confidently say that it was not planned at all. Maybe Mayhem knew before the fight that he would do this if Jake OR even Hendo won, and if your security around the cage and you see a big name fighter in your organization trying to get inside are you really going to stop him?

I keep hearing about how Mayhem is a jackass and does shit like this all the time. What has he done besides act like a goof ball from time to time?
