The brawl story is on the front page of yahoo. They say it embarrassed MMA. NY now has further to go thanks to SF. No one would dare do this in the UFC.
So what happens now? NY MMA opponents start showing this brawl 100 times during legalization talks.

I am absolutely over SF I think the whole organization is all mickey mouse bullshit. EliteXC/ProElite paid off fighters to take a dive against Kimbo and that shit translate over to SF as well...At one point Mousasi had both his legs over the shoulders of Lawal...WHERE THE MOTHERFU*$ING TRIANGLE CHOKE?!?! huh?!?! Yeah that's what I thought, the dude went ahead and put money on Lawal and took a dive. And Shields...on steroids. 3 different people that were watching the fight texted me about how freakishly big his back looked and his back-acne. no comment.

Some of you should be ashamed of yourselves for making up excuses for Mousasi. He lost this fight fair and square. There is no conspiracy theory here. King MO was simply the better fighter that night.
See this is why Mo made those comments about people not giving him any credit regardless if he wins or not.

I am giving him credit for being a good wrestler but you are out of your mind if you think Mousasi didn't have the tools or the OPPORTUNITY to finish that fight!

The LHW division is basically dead right now, not because of Mo, but because they've got nobody to challenge him right now. Soko? Randleman? I'd like to see Roger Gracie drop down maybe later this year, but he's still a relative unknown to the majority. Mo said he might do the DREAM tourney, which would be cool as shit, because I think we all saw Mousasi on an off night, because he looked confused and bored and uninvested. It was weird.
Mousasi/Hendo is the obvious matchup right now, not only because they're both coming off losses, but they both are pretty huge names in MMA and their styles will ensure a slambang throwdown.
I could really care less what they do with Shields right now, because at MW, the matchups are all kinda blah. I think a Jacare matchup ends with Jake probably being subbed or just avoiding the ground threat by taking ZERO risk and even then, it's not very interesting to me. I still consider him a natural WW, and it's obvious he has to go to the UFC here, because he won't fight Diaz for the Strikeforce title. I think Shields' grappling is stellar, however he's undeniably sloppy and I think the Mayhem fight exposed this more than Hendo, since Hendo didn't really look like anything of a challenge last night. GSP is just the better all around athlete and will destroy Jake on the feet and there's no way Shields can outwork GSP. I'd be interested to see him fight Fitch, because I feel Fitch, who has suffered from similar criticism in the past, has a really awesome work ethic and it may actually breed a pretty fun grappling battle. A challenge against Alves' TDD would be really awesome, because I'd love to see him fight somebody with stellar standup and pretty slick jits too.... I'm also quite interested to see how well Shields can cut back down to 170, given the musclemass and added weight he's put on. I think UFC is the best choice for Shields, but if he wants to be a big fish in a small pond, the Farce is where it's at.
I'd really like to see Mayhem/Nick Diaz but I feel like we'll be waiting for some time, since Nick's fighting that pointless Mach fight next month and Coker's looking to put together Lawler/Mayhem, which is cool, but I'd much rather see either of them throwdown with Nick, since it doesn't look like there's anybody to challenge for the WW belt, since Hieron appears to be out of the promotion and Riggs isn't what he once was.
It CLEARLY was all in the rainbow tights for Aoki, because he looked like balls lastnight. He'll go back to Japan and pull some beautiful subs over the next year and will regain some of his cred, but he'll never be that highly ranked again.
Melendez, even with his punkassbitch move at the end, is a fuckin' GAMER and really really came to fight and props for that. But who are they gonna match him up with? I'd love to see a returning JZ Cavalcante, for I think that'd be a wickedly entertaining style matchup with two fighters who always go balls out. Alvarez would be a masterful choice, but he's locked up with Neer and the Bellator winner, but I think Alvarez/Gilbert would be FOTY for sure. I think Thomson needs one or two wins to climb back into the title picture and Noons comes to mind immediately and is probably the most logical choice for me here for the slambang entertainment value and the heat he's got with the Diaz's. And I know people hate this next guy, but Antonio McKee has ripped off a shitload of wins and even if he's a pretty decisiony fighter, he has the wins to really argue for a title shot. I think this is by far their most interesting division next to HW.

Aoki has always been overrated. here's why, he fought in Japan against most other Shooto fighters who also had no stand up just like him and would go to the ground against him and get subbed. Against American MMA style fighters such as Gilbert with his wrestling, could easily avoid his TDs (which he did beautifully!) and would not need to the ground with him because he is a superior stand up fighter. Yall saw what Melendez did against him...imagine what Penn would do to poor Aoki! lol

As for the brawl...my bet is nothing comes of it....don't think they can suspend anyone, except maybe Shields since his fight just ended....with the other guys if they wanted to do anything, I think they would be charged with assault, since they weren't in the fight.
I think Mayhem thought it was gonna be all cool....but Jake has a problem with personal space...and surprised Jake had beef with Frank Shamrock until after the fight. I mean Mayhem went right up to Jake, 1-2 inches from his face saying he wants a re-match bee-otch?
Everyone was at fault....no one should have let Mayhem in the cage until after Jake got his 2-3 questions and answers for Gus.
Great publicity, although it ended kind of like a WWE show.
Moussasi's should have been going for the sub...should have controlled his distance...should have had better stamina (he gassed out half a round after Lawal did) Good for Mo.
Melendez school Aoki, but he looked 20 lbs heavier than Aoki.
Hendo looked old, but still had the power. Shields should have been kicking more (although it was nice to see him throw a few), and Hendo got gassed....Shields still has no power...doesn't even try to...never throws punches from the hip, never turns his shoulder and hip into his punches.
I am starting to think that title fights are cursed. And all fighters who are in a title fight are just fighting for the judges.
Next for Mo....I could see Babalu or maybe Mike Kyle if Strikeforce is willing to sign him...no one stays at KOTC...and he has proven he isn't a habitual rule breaker.
For Shields, I would like to see Joey Villasenor or somebody....I would like to see him have a fight or two in Japan....I expected to see him leave Strikeforce before the fight last night....now I am not so sure. Doesn't look good for the UFC to sign a guy who has problems finishing and little power after knocking Anderson Silva for not finishing.
I would like to see Shields vs Jorge Santiago or Mamed Khalidov or Ryo Chonan or someone with great stamina and BJJ defence. But his grappling was top notch.

I have nothing to say about the brawl that hasn't already been said. Now, on to the fights.
Mousasi/Lawal: First off, big props to Mo for controlling that fight and winning the way he did. At the same time, both fighters looked like shit...Mo because he gassed out after the first round and Mousasi because he looked completely uninterested in doing ANYTHING AT ALL. His strikes are usually crisper and more powerful, and his guard much more active and dynamic. Hopefully both guys enter the DREAM tourney and meet again.
Melendez/Aoki: Aoki was a joke last night, but it was just about what we all expected. The absence of grappling pants completely nullified his ground game, but it's not like he would have gotten much of a chance to implement it anyway. It wasn't pretty, but Melendez executed a flawless gameplan, and was actively trying to finish on several occasions, so I ain't mad at him.
Shields/Hendo: Jesus Christ...did anybody see this coming? This next week is going to be very interesting as we begin to speculate on Shields' next move. As sloppily as Strikeforce is run to begin with, I doubt they have any sort of championship clauses in their contracts, and you best believe that Shields is jumping to the UFC when he gets a chance. His bargaining power is huge right now, and the win over Henderson give the UFC marketing machine a significant talking point.

Honestly.. strikeforce is real lucky they still have Fedor to attract fans, otherwise this might've been it for them. Sexy Gina Carano helps a little bit too but mostly Fedor
