Shields/Jacare. Jacare imo has the best the jits to transition into MMA and a fight with Shields would be amazing. With Jacare's aggressive style, I definitely expect him to out-jits Shields. On the feet, I really feel Jacare has a better standup. Shields has the better wrestling but Jacare guard is fantastic too.
I hope Shields stays for that one fight before going to UFC.

I don't think Shields' next fight is his to be determined. I'm pretty sure the option in his contract is the company's and not his. In any event, Crusty "The Asian" Crustation should head back to Japan and stay there. Without his pants he's not effective.

Something I noticed about the Aoki fight and something I think Aoki means by Japan vs American MMA has to do with cutting weight. Aoki is always that size in all of his fights, I doubt he's ever had to cut weight. Where as Melendez was probably sitting at 165 plus easy that fight. My point is I don't think Aoki has really fought a good fighter that weight cuts so much for fights and I think Japanese MMA doesn't do alot of weight cutting in general.
To me I still don't know why MMA has weigh in's the day before. I'd much rather see weigh in's a few hours max before a fight so the fight is actually an even comparison. Weight divisions are too skewed with how much some fighters cut and it can easily determine the outcome of the fight. I feel it was a big factor in this fight as well.
Does anyone know a reason why weigh in's arn't closer to event times? I could name dozens of big fights that are kinda ruined due to this factor in the sport that I think kinda defeats the purpose of weight classes. Think Lesnar Mir 2 for a great example. It's sad to say but the art of cutting weight hurts the sport and kinda ruins fights that could be great.

A.Silva isn't a slouch off his back and more importantly his stand up his miles above Henderson let alone Shields. If there is anyone Jake needs to fight it should be GSP/Fitch or KOS.
Also still imo Shields would have lost to Miller had he not got saved from the bell in 2nd rnd. Miller had him a tight guilltine.

i disagree roaddawg, i think shields won that fight hands down. maybe mayhem shoulda got that choke in 30 seconds earlier. a rematch would go the same imo.
shields is signing w/ ufc and going to back to 170. i see his first fight w/ gsp (ufc 120: sleeper).
if strikeforce were smart, they would book mayhem/diaz @ catchweight or for the ww title is mayhem wants to go bak to 170. out of respect for this thread, i wont go into detail on why that fight should happen.
i want melendez/jz but i dont think thats next. instead i think gilly is gonna fight aoki again in japan for the dream lw belt.
king mo should join mousasi in the dream lhw grand prix. it already looks stacked and i think he actually has a good shot at winning.
and frank shamrock should lose the braces.

What do YOU folks think is next? And please, no brawl talk. | Ha-ha, okay then..
I agree with 99.9% of your entire post for sure and yes, Noons vs Melendez would be a good fight, and whilst Noons is of Hawaiian descent, I've got $5 on Melendez via another clinic.
And oh, lol at Aoki ranked no. 2 or possibly no. 1.. i'm just rapturous that Gilbert exposed him.

Shields - If he stays with Strikeforce the only fight left for him at 185 is Jacare. If he goes to UFC i would rather see him face Anderson than GSP.
Hendo - If he wants to stay at MW id like to see him and Cung Le or Robbie Lawler. If not Mousasi.
Mousasi - ^^^
King Mo - I cant think of many LHW guys, maybe Babalu.
Aoki - Melendez rematch in Japan if anyone is still interested or Kawajiri.
Melendez - The Noons fight sounds good.
Miller - Nick Diaz for obvious reasons. Robbie Lawler would work too.
Shamrock - Hopefully no more commentary.
