Default female BJJ better then men BJJ?

Do you think that pound for pound, female submisson fighter are better than male? the reason I am saying this is because of the crazy flexability that is natural to them.

Men are usually stronger and more athletic.

Yeah, but all is even, who can do BJJ moves better, who can felx better and get better sub from different positions. It's like Bj vs an average BJJ guy, but the majority of women can be more flexaible than him.

Very valid point and great topic.

I would have to concur that yes, women are certainly more naturally flexible, that is without question. Strength and athleticism goes to the men but strength is not a huge factor in BJJ as technique will surpass stregth and athleticism is not going to be anything women can't overcome.

Women doing BJJ have the flexibility of BJ Penn, if women were able to learn and really master BJJ and get in really good physical shape, I would imagine that they coul beat a lot of men with equal or greater strength and equal technique because of the flexibility factor.

Yes, exactly what I'm trying to say, just not as well as you put it.

I don't think women are naturally more flexible than men at all. Maybe they become more flexible on average because their legs are constantly bending behind in awkward positions (for obvious reasons) but I've seen some very uncoordinated women as well. Their are many men contortionists as well, not just women, but I think women are just more appealing to look at bending around and most men wouldn't want to learn how to become really flexible unless it was for a good reason.

Men will alwayz do every physical sport better than women on average period.

Women have lower center of gravity, better balance.

Athletes who are both selected for flexibility and work a lot on flexibility—you can see that women gymnasts tend to be more flexible than men of the same skill level. It has to do with differences in the bone structure and perhaps with women gymnasts having more compliant ligaments and usually less muscle mass around all joints than men gymnasts.

Well I could be wrong, I just wanted to hear facts. Do they have scientific study on this?

Yes definitely and I am certain women are in fact more flexible naturally and the bone structure comment and less mucle mass around the joints is also correct.

I will google it and find out and post an article supporting the claims

It's all relative in this though. Women may have the tool of additional flexibility which is fine vs other female fighters. However if you look at a flexible BJJwoman vs a strong BJJ bloke its not even a contest.
