If this does go to the ground there will be a lot to learn and watch technique wise this will be a very good ground match for both.. but I see GSP using his sprawl and standing and banging.. making this fight exactly like the Fitch fight, but this time he gets that KO hes been bitchin about not having for awhile

If you've ever watched GSP, which I'm starting to doubt you ever have at this point, you would know that GSP takes the fight to where he has the biggest advantage over his opponent. If he were to fight Shields he would keep the fight standing to maximize his advantage. No one has been able to control where the fight goes when they fight GSP. Shields just gets picked apart on his feet if they ever fight.

And you can bet your ass GSP won't be running away from his opponent like Anderson Silva.

Good on GSP for wanting Shields.
With the Jackson's camp expertise to come up with a solid game plan, and GSP's ability to carry it out perfectly I see a stand up fight on its way. There is no way that Jackson is going to have GSP to try and bully Shields to the ground where he is most dangerous!
Shields stand up is by far the weakest part of his game, so thats where we are going to see it all go down. It only makes sense!

Correct on many levels.
Shields is a DESCENT fighter IMO and lacks quite a bit of striking skills. He is a good defensive minded fighter, but in my book extremely overrated.
The minute he faces a top tier "striker" with decent TDD he will experience a coma.
I think he should immediately come in and face someone like Thiago Alves before facing GSP.
At this point I would like to see him first get the the rumors out of the way and get signed then pick a weight class.

Definetely a GSP quote! This is one of the most humble and dedicated mixed martial artists of all time, I beleive that GSP truly respects Jake Shields and really wants to challenge himself against him! Go GSP GO
