I'll second that, great show&awesome sig!
Both of them look visibly shaken. When i first heard this&saw the Tito interview i immediately thought nah Tito hasn't it in him to strike out at a woman. Its not that i'm a Tito fan, its just my opinion of him from watching him on shows and videos over the years. Whatever my opinion of him inside the ring, he didn't seem like someone that would do something like that outside of the ring. Always got the feeling he was a real family man. However been that loving family man and finding out that your wife has been abusing drugs with your kids around i guess could push some men to a breaking point. Particularly with his past, so i'm not gona make any assumptions until some more facts come out. But i don't care what your breaking point is, you don't hit a woman. One of the first rules in life for any man.

C) Johnson isn't nearly the spokesperson for the UFC/MMA that Tito is. Tito doesn't get paid for his fighting skills--he's been a B-lister for years now. But he gets A-list money because of his celebrity. To put it another way, more people probably saw him on that apprentice reality show than watched UFC 106. When the bulk of your salary is negotiated not on your skills in the cage, but on your fame, it's a bad idea to fuck up your public image.

rh | In all honesty Tito's public image has been tarnished for quite some time (as a fighter and a human being). He has been widely hated for years but this incident sure hasn't done him any favors at all.
I still think cutting him is simply a bad idea. If anything they should suspend him for a year but definitely don't give this guy up to SF.

I still think cutting him is simply a bad idea. If anything they should suspend him for a year but definitely don't give this guy up to SF. | Tito has been hated by a fraction of a microscopic demographic. He played a role in a subculture, and there were guys who loved him for it, guys who hated him for it, and guys who saw through the act as hype.
But he's reaching a much, much larger audience now, and the majority of those guys have never seen him do the Gravedigger, have never heard him talk about putting Rashad in a wheelchair, or anything like that. They just know him as one of those "extreme fighter guys" who also "married a pornstar." This is the litmus test not only for his public perception in the mainstream, but carries over into how people who are totally unfamiliar with MMA view the industry.
As far as cutting him; first, I don't believe anything dana says...but he left himself an out by saying if the charges hold up, he'll cut him. That's a pretty broad statement, and open to a variety of interpretations...half the people who initially heard the information thought that Tito had hit her, and might take today's news as significantly less inflammatory. dana can [and will] reneg on his claim if it's even remotely in the best interest of making some money for Zuffa.
I do not think he'll act in the best interest of Tito, but I do believe he'll do whatever is projected to make some money off the publicity.

Read another article on this from an unlikely source: Tito Ortiz Denies Assaulting Jenna Jameson, Says She's Addicted to Painkillers - Today's News: Our Take | TVGuide.com
Let me quote the different parts that aren't part of the generic report posted on every other site. Quote:
Jameson, wearing a brace around her right elbow, denied abusing drugs and told TMZ that Ortiz's claim was a "very, very desperate" tactic in "trying to save his career."
She said Ortiz threw her in a bathtub and tore two ligaments in her shoulder.
Lt. Mike Reynolds of the Huntington Beach Police Dept. told TVGuide.com that the name of the accuser in Ortiz's case is not being released, but that there was one "visible injury" on the victim, which met the standard for an arrest.
Jenna Jameson, Tito Ortiz welcome twin boys
Matthews said Ortiz, 35, confronted Jameson Monday morning about drugs he had found, but she "denied it" and had an "emotional breakdown over it." He said Jameson suffered only a "scratch on her elbow."
Jameson's father, Larry, told TMZ outside of Ortiz and Jameson's home Monday that he called 911 and that Jameson has gotten a restraining order against Ortiz.
Though Larry Jameson called police, Matthews said Jameson's family sided with Ortiz after learning of his daughter's possible drug abuse. "Jenna's family, Tito's family, their friends have all been very supportive of Jenna through this entire ordeal, and we are asking for your continued support right now," he said.
| So, either ligaments torn in shoulder (her story) or scratch on elbow (his) Doubt they drug tested her. Would be interesting to know the whole story.
