Default UFC Going to afganistan?

Read the write up just now on mmanews.Just wondering why he seems to act like this is almost impossible.Hell WWE has been doing this for many years and had it on TV.One show even had some mortar noise in the background.I wonder how many fighters will be willing to go and how many will not want to.

I think it will be a pretty big show since a lot of the fighters in the UFC have a special relationship with our armed forces. It definitely will give our troops a little taste of home even for just a few days.

the WWE has been doing this for years as mentioned up top, they haven't really had any issues. Only issue is that it probably won't be a live taping.

Not exactly that name but simullar. They were about the only wwe shows I used to watch was the ones overseas for the troops. They were right in the heart of Bagdad when the shit was hitting the fan.I hope Dana does like Vince did and let the fighters decide if they want to do the show and not force them to go.It is cool that they are doing it for the troops. They can always use something to remind them of home.

Sorry to tell you that the WWE was not in the heart of Baghdad when shit was hitting the fan. They were not allowed to start going to Iraq until things had calmed down a great deal and Baghdad was no longer considered a hot zone. Granted there was some danger, but nothing like what they portrayed it to be when they first went over there. The military wouldn't allow them to be there until Baghdad was secured and considered a "Green Zone", secure safe area.

As I stated in the other thread, I'm a former Marine that has been to both places and was injured in Iraq and medically retired due to the injuries I sustained. I think it is absolutely a great thought on Dana's part, but it is nowhere near worth the risk to the fighters and considering there is really nowhere in Afghanistan that is considered a "Green Zone" the military can't afford to allow the soldiers to get too complacent. Like I said it is a great thought, but definitely something that needs to be put on hold and thought out more until things are calmed down a whole lot more there.
