I think it surprised Koscheck who in every other fight before GSP and in every fight after GSP has been by leaps and bounds the better wrestler... IMO kos wasn't prepared for that and to be honest a wrestler of his caliber probably focuses more on the other areas he's deficient in and doesn't go in there and drill wrestling for hours.... I think if Koscheck would take a similar approach to GSP and GSPs game plans....he could learn alot....and he could be as dominant as GSP. If and when they fight again I really hope Kos is going devote his camp to wrestling and make GSP beat him in other areas because I don't think Koscheck loses the wresting battle twice... GSP is a phenomenal athlete and is definitely more well rounded but I think GSP is at the point where against someone like Kos.... if GSP's wrestling and TD's gets neutralized...I think he will be uncomfortable dealing with Kos's unorthodox striking and it will make the fight interesting. I think GSP could be in the situation Kos was in against him if they fought. It might not be the most exciting fight if they have a rematch but it could be a very interesting technical battle. |
Just watched the entire fight of GSP/Kos
rd. 1) GSP took Kos down and controlled him for 4 minutes on the ground, last might Kos got up and from the clinch too GSP down for the last minute.
rd. 2) GSP took Kos down again and controlled him on the ground attempting multiple kimuras and hitting him in with elbows and punches to the body.
rd. 3) GSP tooled Kos in the standup for the first 3 minutes, Kos unsuccessfully tries for a takedown and ends up on his back receiving elbows and punches to the head for his troubles.
Kos did not win one round of that fight.
