| Report: Forrest Griffin out of UFC 114 with Shoulder Injury Quote:
Forrest Griffin -- one of the most popular fighters in the UFC -- is backing out of his fight later this month because of a bum shoulder ... TMZ has learned.
Sources tell us the former UFC light heavyweight champ's shoulder injury is serious enough that he won't be able to fight Lil' Nog on May 29 in Las Vegas.
The extent of Griffin's injury is unclear.

This is bad news for fight fans but good news for Forrest. Nogueira would seriously fuck him up and that isn't good for your psyche after losing the way he did to Anderson Silva, with only a razor thin decision to Tito as a buffer. Forrest needs to slide back down to Jardine territoy and get some wins before he's fighting Nogueira, T. Silva, Rampage, Rashad or those heavy handed fighters again. Hell, even Jardine wrecked him.

The Boetsch/Silva fight isn't for a few months. Silva probably hasn't even hit training camp yet. It'd be dumb as shit to fight Lil Nog on three weeks notice.

Wow. ...I hate these constant upsets. Ahh...im not even going to let the disappointment soak in yet.
ahhh, damn Forrest. Now it will be a while until he's back in the cage...
As for Rogerio, who the hell is going to step in for him?!
The UFC is actually in a tight spot right here. That was the co-main event and because they care about making money the most, who are they going to be forced to put in there with Nog who is a big enough draw?? There really isn't anybody at LHW that is available for him in time. Bader isnt a big enough name, and anyone under him is surely out of the question for the co-main event of Jackson VS Evans...
The only two fighters that would boost this card back up to its potential against Lil Nog are...
Thiago Silva.
...and Jon 'Bones' Jones. He wanted it, so let him have it Dana!!!

Randy Couture, Bones Jones? Yeah Randy is rumored to fight in August against Toney but I'd rather see him actually fight Lil Nog instead. Not sure he'd want to fight Lil Nog who imo is better than big nog at this point in their careers.
Jon Jones would be nice. People are bitching about his fight with Vladdy so lets give him a huge test in Lil Nog. IMO Lil Nog would wipe the floor with Bones as of now. But there isn't to many people out there who could go on 3 weeks notice, especially with Nog.

^^^ Yeah, I considered Randy but Dana probably wouldnt want to ruin his HUGE payday with the Toney match if Randy were to get destroyed by Lil Nog. Thiago Silva would be a great fight, but if he lost it would have devastating consequences on his career right now, so that would be another huge risk...
But if Jon Jones took the fight, which Im sure he would gladly accept, even if he lost has plenty of time to come back up and really wouldnt be a surprise to many people, including myself. But I would still love to see it. Hell, he asked for it.
...although in the back of my mind, I could see them putting Vladdy in there because of their past but that would kill a substantial amount of ratings for UFC 114, which isn't just any PPV like 115 or something...its Rampage VS Rashad.
I am so anxious to see who's going to be the one.
This is pretty much who can fill in, depending on whether the UFC's motives are money and ratings, or to protect future paydays, from top to bottom.
1. Randy Couture
2. Jon Jones
3. Thiago Silva
4. Vladimir Matyushenko
5. Ryan Bader

Take Matyushenko off that list. They fought less than 2 years ago and it was a snoozer. The UFC won't touch a rematch
Couture won't take the fight. He's not going to take a short notice fight knowing he's going to have to cut a lot of weight.
They oughta call Anderson Silva. Give him a chance at redemption.
