You know, its funny because I had no issue with Chuck before I came to this forum. I still feel the exact same way about Chuck as always. He is a good fighter and a striker. However, I cant say he is the best in the world. He barely won his fight against Overeem (Overeem looked like a much better striker too) and lost against Rampage. UFC feeds him bunch of wrestlers and he is the king of UFC. But in the world of MMA, I just think he wouldnt have piled up that record against better competition.
And then I come to this forum and you have people treating him like God and make bunch of subjective/biased comments. I still dont hate him and I give him credit but this forum just brings the worst of me when it comes to Chuck |

Chuck has faced mainly just grapplers/wrestlers while in the UFC but that's UFC's fault and they should of done something about that by now to help not only the LHW div but also bring in more for the HW div as well. I still think Chuck would do well against strikers but they would be wars and not just easy KO"s for him like in the UFC. Chuck has fought good fighters in the UFC though like Couture, Tito, Babalu but their fighting style played into Chuck's hands well. Anyways I'm not concerned about what Chuck did 3 years ago against Rampage, I'm eager to see what Chuck can do now against strikers as most of us all are. Chuck, Wand and Shogun are considered to be the top 3 LHW/MW's in the world and it sucks we have not seen any of those names fight eachoter. Chuck's only getting older and its BS that somethign has yet to be worked out so we can see Chuck against someone like Wand, Shogun or even a Chuck vs Rampage 2. Then after that we'd have a better basis to build off of in arguments as to how Chuck measures up against strikers in the present day. Like I said, I think they would be all out wars and not just easy KO's for Chuck.

Yeah you can't blaim Chuck for who he has fought really, because he is making a ton of money with the UFC fighting wrestlers and BJJ. But no way is he #1 in the world...no way at all.
But he still kills Tito.

But he still kills Tito. | Well althought that is your opinion there is no fact that proves that still. This is the reason we want some cross fighting to hapeen with Prides best MW's against Chuck. Just because Chuck hasnt fought many strikers doesnt mean his striking/counter striking sucks or doesnt match up to Pride's top MW's. It's like just because Chuck mainly fights grapplers/wrestlers that ppl automatically count him out or say that Chuck cant hang against a good striker. That to me is just ignorant when i hear that. How anyone thinks that when Chuck is excellent at what he does is beyond me. Chuck against a great striker would let us see an actual good fight or war compared to Chuck getting quick KO victories in the UFC. Personally I think Wand's fighting style would play well into Chucks hands using counter striking. Of course not that easily as I'd expect a war between those 2. I'd expect good fights between Chuck and any top Pride MW's. Bottomline is we just do not know who is the best. Until we see that we'll still have the same ol arguments in these forums going back and forth. You are right about Tito though... Chuck should have no prob killing Tito who is ranked like 6th or 7th. Tito's fighting style is a classic example of a fighter falling into Chucks hands.

The fact is Chuck is getting old, his prime days are over if you ask me. He fought in Pride 3 years ago when he was at his Prime physically and he lost.
Fact is, we have already seen Chuck fight strikers against Overeem and Rampage (who is a wreslter/brawler)...he barely won against Overeem and lost to a Rampage.
Chuck is a cool guy, I like him and he is the best in the UFC but if he fought Shogun he would be dismantled and devastated.

Chuck not in his prime?? haha he's for sure in it right now, he was still excelling 3 years ago. His gameplan is still the same but he's improved in it. I think the best way to show that he has is watch Randy vs Chuck 1 and then Randy vs Chuck 2 and 3. He moves around a lot more now as he improved on his footwork. That is even what Chuck stated he worked on for the rematch. And that is just 1 way he has improved. He's knocking guys out in the 1st and 2nd rounds with no struggle and without a scratch on him. Now is the best time for Chuck to face another striker like Wand... he's healthy and at his best now. I still think all of us are hopeful for matches like these that may never happen. Even Wand stated in a last interview that he was looking towards retirement to open a school in California. That just sucks too cause it will leave us with a bunch of "what ifs".
