| Bisping on Daley's sucker punch - "It was one of the stupidest things I've ever seen" http://www.cagepotato.com/bisping-fe...have-ever-seen Quote:
Michael Bisping was asked today by MMAFighting's Ariel Helwani to give his thoughts on fellow UK fighter Paul Daley's post-UFC 113 attack of opponent Josh Koscheck and let's just say that "The Count" was much less supportive of his countryman than expected. "What can I say? It was one of the stupidest things that I have ever seen. Paul's a very talented young man, he's got a bright future ahead of him and he was getting his UFC career off to a fantastic start and it's a shame to see a few seconds of madness ruin such a great potential career," Bisping told Helwani. "But this is a professional sport and we're professional sportsman, you can't act like that. I, myself, have done years and years of interviews and things like that, talking about how we're not thugs, we're professional athletes, we're martial artists. Behavior like that just plays into stereotypes. It's just a bit of a shame, really."
Bisping admitted that the news that Daley had been let go by the promotion caught him off guard, but says he wouldn't be surprised if UFC president Dana White reconsiders the decision somewhere down the road and brings "Semtex" back to the Octagon. "I'm not saying I agree with letting him go, no. To be honest, I was a little shocked when I heard that the UFC were cutting him completely. I thought, maybe, he might be relegated to the undercard, but I'm sure they have their reasons," said Bisping. "You know, I try to stay out of it and I just focus on my fight and my career, you know? Who knows? Maybe we'll see him back one day. I hope so. I've known Paul for a while. He's a nice guy. He just made a silly mistake."
Somehow I doubt it, but what do I know? I figured Gilbert Yvel would never fight for the UFC and that Tito Ortiz's days in the Octagon were behind him, too. |

i feel kinda bad for daley five seconds basically changed his life. but he did it and has to deal with the consequences. it was one of the most outrageous things ever to happen in the octagon and i was so pissed when it happened but i cant help but think dana is making an example out of this guy because of the whole strikeforce thing

You all give Bisping too much shit. He's a good bloke...no doubt about it. He talks some shit...but its only to sell the fights.

I use to despise him he use to talk alot more shit than he does now, even if it was to hype his fights up. Once he got KO'd by Hendo he became more humble. It was around that time he started coming as more intelligent and less cocky in his interviews, but really hes a pretty good guy and I gained my respect back for him after he went three rounds with Wandy. Maybe Daley can learn from him and come back a better person and fighter.

Bisping doesnt seem to me as a very arrogant fighter, that KO loss to hendo definitely humbeled him very much.
He is not the nicest guy ever and sometimes talk some trash but IMO nothing really important, he is not a Koscheck for example.

Daley will be back. I agree with the Yvel and Ortiz thing, but that took years. I was shocked that he was cut too. I expected like a huge sum of his purse is cut and suspended for a few months then a long haul to the title picture. But then again, doing some stupid shit like that and with MMA still in infancy mode, I think him getting cut was the best thing to do for the sport, regardless how good he is.

I wasn't shocked at all when he was cut. I think he'll be back in the UFC though, within 1-2 years.
