If they can just get the fighters, I dont know if UFC would want to mess with running another organization.

Pride must be in some kind of financial difficulty and Dana seems to know more then most people would think. Why spend millions on Pride just to get the fighters over to the UFC when Pride could very well go bankrupt. Either he waits for fighters to jump ship and he can pick and choose who he wants. Or buys the whole thing and keep both seperate like the wwe.
I believe they (WWE) own both WWE and ECW and maybe another wrestling company. I might be wrong cuz im not the biggest wrestling fan

Keeping both seperate would probably would make the most sense in my opinion.

Lets be completely honest here. The most important aspect of this purchase for the UFC would be the Pride name and it's video library. As far the fighters go we have to look at this realistically and see that fighters are independent contractors and while they would be in the UFC for a while, they could just as easily jump ship when their contracts are up. That being said some of the dream matches we all want to see would be sweet. If they do buy Pride and increase the number of PPV's per year there is going to huge pressure to put on a good show everytime.

That would be the ONLY pro IMO and they would drag it out so very much and honestly, what matches do we really need or want to see?

Some have convinced themselves that they want to see Fedor vs Sylvia but do we really need to see that to know what the outcome would be? No, why waste a Fedor PPV on that fight. Cro Cop vs Fedor - Yes, Silva vs Chuck - Yes, Cro Cop vs Chuck - Yes, Cro Cop vs Shogun - Yes, Chuck vs Shogun - Yes, Chuck vs Lil Nog - Yes.

Gomi, Kwajiri, Ishida, Mach, Hansen, Aurelio and Melendez would clean out the LW division and those fighters vs themselves is a better matchup than them vs the UFC LW at this point. Maybe thigs will change as Stevenson is promising and Sherk is good as well but those Pride LW's are not Kenny Florian and when they land strikes, it flores people.

Flanklin vs Hendo, Kang, Misaki, Filho, I think we can all agree and not be so niave that they would all own Franklin, especially hendo, Filho and Kang. Franklin would have a chance vs Misaki but no real chance aginst an Olympic wrestler with sick punching power and cardio, a world class striker and a world class grappler and wrestler with savage strength and technique.

A. Silva vs Kand would be magical and I would love to watch that fight. A. Silva vs Hendo and Filho as well.

So yeah, there are a lot of great matches in some of the divisions but the better matches are still goign to come in the form of the PRIDE fighters vs the PRIDE fighters but at least all the bullshit arguing and testicle drooling would be silenced and all of the bullshit excuses and accusations that PRIDE fighters use roids as they can't possibly be that good... Yes they can and yes they are, it's international talent, nothing more than that, picking the best fighters in the world from around the globe.

I wouldn't call Fedor/Sylvia a dream match. Title unification, yes.

Damn Chuck is going to have one busy ass schedule haha. But that is the truth, just about every time the mentioning of bringing a fighter over from Pride or any organization it is to fight the UFC's poster boy, Chuck Liddell. I'd love to see all those matches but in reality if this whole thing happened we'd probably see only a couple of these matches since I'm not sure how much longer Chuck will be around. I'd still love to see Fedor vs Sylvia just to see Tim stomped haha.

This is great. The world of MMA is going to be turned upside down. If the WWE buys Pride I see the Pride name living on. If UFC buys Pride, I doubt that Pride will be around. It wouldn't make sense to try and run two promotions.

What the UfC would do is just bring the Pride fighters under contract into the Ufc to finish up the contracts, depending on the legality of the situation. They will just fill the UFC rosters to the top and just use the Pride trademark name in other ways.

They will probably sell Pride highlight PPV's and then sell them on DVD. They will double there fight video library and sell a tonne of that type of stuff. They will make millions off of that alone.

Personally I'm not sure what I would rather see. On one hand is UFC buys Pride there is a chance that all the best fighters will join the UFC, but also that is not a for sure thing, Bodog is looking like they will put up the cash to compete.

With WWE buying Pride you will see more fighters get paid better in both Pride and Ufc due to the competition. The Pride name will survive and be more dominant than ever in North America. You will see very good PPV production and Pride will be coming to Canada for sure.

I think either way it will be great to watch.

I would like to see a diffrent league just so UFC doesn't have a true monopoly Maybe WFA, Bodog, Icon or Strikeforce buys them, hell Maybe BJ's Family will get them and there will be more ROTR's I just would like to see another group get it and have cross over fights now and then because it will keep the competition up. I don't want the WWE to touch it though that would suck with all thoes story lines and soapopera crap going on.
