Nice work! I knew about the Kawajiri vs Melendez but was unaware fo the Aoki vs Hansen fight, that must've just been added.
It is shaping up to be a phenomenal NYW event and I have high hopes for it.

The only downside is the GP in each respective division every 4 years. Other than that it is all positive, ending Bushido and combining the 2 is a great idea and title defenses every PPV.
They will learn from the UFC on what is successful in the US and hopefully capitalize on it and strike a TV deal here in the US.
If they are able to reach the US market successfully, their Japan events will be extremely popular as I think that more of the fans will enjoy the knees to the head of a downed opponent and the kicks to the head of a downed opponent becasue you know fans are screaming to themselves "knee him in the head" when someone shoots for a leg and gets stuffed.
Do you think Pride is going to have the final card up by the end of this week by chance?

Yes....PRIDE made a wise decision with the 4 year GP format, title defense every PPV, etc.
This NYE card is looking great. I just hope Crocop doesn't get like a too easy fight - awkward situation, really, he still wants to fight without begin 100% on his leg after surgery.

I am always amazed and baffled at the same time to see how very little exposure these amazing fighters get on this website.
If it was melvin, sherk, stevenson, fisher, even lauzon it would be 5 pages long.
Seems as though people are more interested in the hype and popularity of the sport rather than the quality, very strange.

Do you think Pride is going to have the final card up by the end of this week by chance? | All the changes starting in 2007 look great to me as well. I agree it will be great to see more title defenses. I mean Henderson has yet to defend his title he won at NYE last year, which is pretty sad. It's been a year since Wanderlei's last defense, and over a year since Fedor's. So I am glad that is going to change. To succeed in the US they must have them, it means more to the American fans.
I'm actually in favor of the new GP format. It will make it more prestigious to win the tourney. Also we'll see a big change in the fighters participating, which will be better than seeing the same guys competing. With all these rumors of PRIDE selling, I'll be happy if they are just around.
Probably won't see the final card for another week or 2. They have 7 more matches to announce. They are only having 10 matches this year because last year they had 12 and didn't get all the matches on the PPV, so there was a big uproar about that.

Honestly I don't know too much about them. With the cost of events being what it is I can't order all so unfortunately I don't see too many Bushidos. I like lws but it seems all the good ones are in bushido, deep, and shooto and I never really see them.
